Highlights
  • Lake Sevan - The high-altitude Lake Sevan is often called the “pearl of Armenia”. Situated 1,900 meters above sea level in the heart of the Armenian highlands, it lies 63 km northeast of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, and is the largest lake in the Caucasus region. Surrounded by mountain ranges, Sevan offers breathtaking views of an alpine lake. The lake is renowned for its pristine fresh water, and the pure mountain air is known to have health benefits.
  • Sevanavank - The Sevanavank monastery complex is located on the Sevan peninsula. Founded in 305 by St. Gregory the Illuminator, it was built on the site of a former pagan temple. In the 9th century, the princes of Syunik established Sevan as a strategic point. In 874, Mariam, the wife of Prince Vassak of Syunik and daughter of King Ashot Bagratuni, constructed two churches here – St. Arakeloc and St. Astvatcatcin. These churches are adorned with various wood-carved capitals, some of which are preserved in the Armenia State Museum of History and the Art Gallery of St. Petersburg (Hermitage). A spiritual school was established in the complex in 1869. The remnants of a church with a domed hall can be found at the top of the island’s mountain. The cloister area is rich in khachkars (cross-stones).
  • Dilijan National Park - The tour continues to the northern part of Armenia, where you will be surrounded by stunning nature. Passing through the city of Dilijan, we will stop at the Gosh-Goshavank monastery. This historic church is nestled in a beautiful village of the same name. Mkhitar Gosh, a prominent intellectual of his time and author of the first code of civil and Canon law used in Greater Armenia and Cilicia, is buried near the church he built in 1188. Here, you can also see Pavghos’s (Poghos) Khachkar, considered the most beautiful “embroidered” Khachkar (stone cross) in Armenia.
  • Haghartsin Monastery - The final stop on this trip is the Haghartsin monastery, dating back to the 10th-14th centuries. The name translates to “the play of the eagle”. The scenery here is akin to a stunning work of art, with both the monastery and the surrounding nature offering breathtaking views. It is one of those places in Armenia that feels like an unreal movie set. During a visit to the church, HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, donated over $5,000,000 for its renovation.
  • Lake Parz - Lake Parz is situated in Dilijan National Park. This lake offers a beautiful view and various types of entertainment. You can admire the forests of Dilijan or enjoy activities such as boating, zip-lining, or visiting cafes.
