Krka National Park, situated in Šibenik County, encompasses the regions of the Krka River and the lower part of the Čikola River. The park features seven stunning waterfalls, the source of the Krka River, diverse wildlife and plant ecosystems, ancient archeological sites, and sacred architecture. Additionally, it preserves a rich ethnographical and industrial heritage. The unique and exquisite travertine formations of the park lend it an invaluable charm. Travertine, a type of limestone, forms in water with high quantities of dissolved calcium bicarbonate.
