Be careful not to take the wrong bus - Very good option for visiting the city with this multiple-stop bus that rotates every 30 minutes. The combination of night tour without stops and comments with the day tour with stops and comments is perfect. Price for 24 hours approximately €8. Be careful to choose the red buses with audio guide in French rather than the others which do not tell you but without French translation.

Review of City Sight Seeing hop on bus (there are two companies) - I went on the city sightseeing bus tour. I do that in every city. Was a bit concerned reading the reviews. To clarify- there are TWO different red bus companies in Saigon. The City Sightseeing company and the Anh viet City tours bus company. The buses look very similar. See my photos of the various buses of the two companies. I did NOT experience any of the issues mentioned by other reviewers. I believe the negative reviews are referring to experiences on the Anh Viet bus tour not City Sightseeing. I went to the Opera house at 8.45am and bought a 24 hour ticket from their ticket booth for $19USD. They take Visa card. It covered the day tour and the night tour 5-9pm. The night tour was fabulous and a great way to see the city at night. I got the 5.45pm bus opposite the opera to see the city as night fell. Nb you will see people getting up and standing up upstairs and selphie sticks and other aggravations on this bus! It cost $19usd. Not bad. It's not a live guided tour but I thought the commentary was ok and synced with the points of interest more or less. The syncing is going to depend on how conscientious the driver is with turning it on at the right time. I'm just glad they don't have that irritating music in between points of interest. I take my own headphones on these tours and I do the whole tour in one go. They did give out cheap headphones but I never use them. I got a good sense of Saigon and my bearings. The circuit took 1.5 hours. If you think you are going to use it for getting on and off, remember it is traffic dependent and there may be a long wait and the bus might be full when it arrives. Also take a drink and hat. Some stops won't have cover from the sun. Nb the city sightseeing buses have two types of bus, one totally open upstairs and one that is half covered and airconditioned. The first bus at 9am was totally open but I could see that the second bus parked behind it at 9.30am was an air conditioned upstairs bus so I waited for that one. It would be far too hot for me being out in the open for that long in Saigon. Anyway a bit of due diligence and realistic expectations of what you can get out of these buses will go a long way to getting the most out of this way of seeing a city.

Amazing city safe, cheap and plenty to see and do - We were here for 2 days as part of a cruise. A fantastic city with lots to see and do. Lovely people and great sights. Would strongly recommend this to anyone. Only wished we could hav3 stayed longer. Must sees include the former prison used by the French and later Vietnamese for US prisoners (“Hanoi Hilton”) including John McCain, Water puppet show, Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and Street food markets.

Truly one of the best city sight seeing experience at night time 👍👍👍 - Amazing bus travel at night on hop on and hop off stroll around Ho Chi Minh City. Seeing the whole city at night was great. My family was truly satisfied with the experience. Travel agency was really considerate for my last minute changes on my travel schedule. This is truly one of my best.

Good way to get around, not great for history and tourist information - The tour audio, for English, was very disjointed. The information continued to be cut-off mid sentence and between every stop. There was also audio playing in the bus (not via headphones) which was different to what was in the headphones, and also cut off and over powered the earphones. It is a good way to get around the city to some key stops and tourism locations, though the Hanoi bus seeded to have it's act together a bit better with no overhead mismatched Audi, only the disconnected headphones audio which never quite finished

Awful company and bus experience. Constantly delayed. - Awful experience, complete scam. We were left waiting in the heat for over an hour. Manager was incompetent and unable to find a solution with us. Cheaper to use grab through the city. Avoid this company like the plague!!

Don't bother!! - I don't like writing bad reviews and will always try to find something positive to say but, on this occasion don't bother with this the Hop on Hop Off, a waste of time. Advise, download Grab (Like Uber) get a taxi to Benn Thanh Market or other point of interest a few £s (as opposed to $19 odd dollars for this tour bus) & all the other places of interest are within 20-25 mins walking distance. We used Google Maps to navigate. The biggest problem with this service is you have no idea when and where the bus will to stop so you can Hop on! The map is hopeless. We waited at the market for 30 mins for the bus, ended up walking to one of the ticket kiosks only to be told the service stopped at 4.30. What! If you're tired and need to get back to your hotel just get another Grab Taxi.

Horrible service, cancelled before the trip - We booked this bus tour and dinner cruise combo before we tried another company Asiana Link Travel also overbooked their availability and last minute cancelled our reservation on the Indochina Queen. I found this company at the post office where their buses depart and booked for Sunday March 3 as we are flying back home the next day. I received a confirmation for the dinner cruise after the hop on bus tour until I got the bait and switch email: Dear Sir/Madame, Your Indochina Queen Cruise reservations are full. Would you like to change to another date? We currently have space available for March 4 and March 5. Please confirm soon! Thank you! This is typical for Vietnam as I’ve seen them scam tourists not only in the city for excursions but even within the airline industry Viet Jet and the Vietnam Immigration Department. I messaged this company back by email and also called them to see if they can accommodate us since the cruise was available at the time of booking, so it’s their fault for overbooking and not telling customers. They could not accommodate us and said the refund process has been initiated but caveat emptar or buyer beware. Steer clear of these two companies I mentioned to save yourself frustration and headaches.

Poor crowd management and shortened tour - Very poor experience booking the 1 hour HCM City tour. We arrived 20 minutes early and waited for more than an hour in the heat of late afternoon. If this was only due to traffic and crowds (it was the Tet holiday), we could understand. But many guests who had not been waiting as long rushed the front of the line and the numerous staff present did nothing to stop this. We had a longer wait as reward for waiting our turn patiently, and we were treated with suspicion when we eventually insisted it was our turn to board. And after all that, the route was cut short and the tour lasted only 40 minutes (we were sold 1 hour.) As mentioned, traffic and crowds were significant during the holiday. This might be a better tour on a normal day. But I will warn anyone against trusting this company after such a poor guest experience.

Wasted my money worse tour ever - The whole thing was a disaster from where we had to meet the bus to finding out it was an hour tour rather than all day which fits the theme of hop on hop off advertised. We were running late due to the difficulty in getting to pick up point. I rang and informed the organisers that we were going to be late and tgey said this was fine. Get to the pick up point and told wait 10 mins and it was close to 30. Then we were put on another bus that came past rather than the one sitting there and 5 mins later told to get off as this was the end of the line for them. Directed to get on another bus where the lady looking at tickets told me to get off as this was a 1 hour tour and it started at 11am. She was rude and carrying on so much so that another customer started speaking on my behalf stating that we had only travelled for 5mins on the last bus. Was told to go in and not even handed headphones. No commentry and finally went up and got headphones myself. So fed up getting got off 15 minutes later. Waste of time and money will never recommend this tour to anyone. In fact will do the opposite
