Amazing trip through Morocco with Mouad - We had an incredible trip through Morocco. Our guide, Mouad, made sure we were always having fun, adjusting to our independent plans to ensure we had the best experience. As a group of three girls, we always felt safe and comfortable. Mouad constantly shared facts, jokes, anecdotes, and anything else that could enhance our trip. Everything was well-organized, and the entire journey ran smoothly. We could stop along the drive for photos, snacks, or anything else we needed, and Mouad was always there to help. On our way to the desert, we were delayed by flash floods that blocked our route to the camp, but it didn’t feel like a big deal at all. We avoided the flooded areas and had a meal with his family since we couldn’t travel further. It was so lovely and heartwarming to experience that kind of Moroccan hospitality. What could have been a stressful travel hiccup turned into a delightful alternative plan, still aligned with what we wanted from the trip. I loved our time in Marrakech, the desert (my favorite), and Fez. I felt like we truly learned about the rich history of each region while enjoying delicious food and having a lot of fun. I highly recommend heading to the desert (we traveled via Skoura and then to Merzouga), and riding camels to watch the sunset over the dunes. You’ll also witness an incredible starry sky and a stunning sunrise. Other highlights included our cooking class, food tours, ATVing, seeing the oldest university in the world (!!), the leather tanneries, and so much more. A big thank you to Mouad, our guide and driver, for putting up with our shenanigans over ten days and becoming a friend! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who will listen (I already have been, and I haven’t even been home for a week!).

Amazing Tour of Morocco with fantastic guide Mouad! - We had an amazing time on our tour across Morocco! Mouad, our guide and driver made sure we were always comfortable, safe and having fun. He was very flexible to accommodate to our plans, always cheerful and kept us laughing and smiling with his jokes and stories. It was great to see Morocco with Mouad since he was very knowledgable about Moroccan culture, people and the landscape. He was very organized and managed all coordination between hotels, riads, local tour guides etc. on our behalf so that every stop along our trip was seamless and we didn't have to worry about those details. On top of that Mouad was a great photographer and pointed out lots of great vantage points along our roadtrip for us to stop and take photos and enjoy the view. During our trip there was some heavy rain and flooding and Mouad easily adjusted our plans so that we could make the most of our time while avoiding the flooded areas. When we were temporarily stuck in one area due to a flooded river, Mouad took us to have a meal with his family who were very kind and welcoming. Mouad went above and beyond in every regard and our trip would not have been the same without him! Majid was also very helpful in coordinating details ahead of time and planning the trip to make sure we had great experiences at beautiful hotels and venues. The structure of the tour was ideal - it was a good split between time in the cities, exploring the medinas and shopping, and enjoying the natural landscapes of morocco and the beauty of the desert. The guided food and city tours of Marrakech and Fez were incredibly helpful to understand the local history and food traditions in each city. Another highlight of the trip was definitely spending time in the sand dunes at Merzouga where we took a camel trip to a desert camp and also had the chance to do ATV riding in the sand dunes (really thrilling!). Thank you to Mouad and Majid! We highly recommend this experience and will be telling all our friends about it.

Great Tour! - We took a two-week trip in August of 2024, which was organized by Majid. We loved our trip! The itinerary was perfect, with just the right amount of time at each location. The accommodations were very nice, and the local guides were great. Majid did a fantastic job of organizing the whole thing. The best part of the trip was our driver/guide, Ismael. He has the perfect personality for the job: fun, well-informed, and kind. He was a great driver and a very interesting person to chat with during the drives from one location to the next. The whole family missed him on the days we were not with him. By the end of the trip, it felt like he was part of the family. Also, the WIFI in the van was a very nice touch. Overall, we could not be happier with our experience with our tour.

We fell in love with Morocco - We would highly recommend ‘Under the Moroccan Sun’ as Hassan helped us at every step of booking our trip. He changed the Riad in a city if we asked him to before our journey started. He would promptly reply to our queries. He even made an effort to come and visit us during our trip and enquire how our trip was going. This journey helped us immerse in the Moroccan culture specially our two daughters 15 and 20 who could not be happier with their trip to Morocco as they found so many things of their interest which never gave them a boring moment. We were assigned the best Guide/driver Mouad who knew the country like the back of his hand. He showed us places and explained the history behind them. He made our trip memorable with his smile and hospitality. He even took us through Tangier which was not originally in our itinerary to Chefchaouen. He took us to visit the local Berber tent in the Sahara where we experienced simplicity of their lives with their open hearts Mouad also booked us our tickets for various sites and local guides to show Medina of Fez and Marrakech and other places. He would always had cold water bottles for our family. He would keep us involved in the trip giving us heads up before we start off the day. Our family loved the dessert and the camel ride over the dunes and our luxury tent stay there. Mouad had informed us that there were some AC problems in our original tents so they moved us to much better ones. It was a pleasure working with the whole team of ‘Under the Moroccan Sun.’ If we can give points out of 10 we will give 11. We think it was the most amazing trip we would ever take.

All Out Morocco! - 10 Days, Casablanca - Rabat - Fes - Merzouga - Ait Benhaddou - Imlil - Essaouira - Marrekech. Single traveler. It's you and the guide cruising around Morocco stopping where you want and making on-the-fly adjustments to the itinerary as you see fit. Even better is if you came up with a suggestion, they would give their recommendation on it based on what your overall goal was for the trip. So not only are you tailoring the trip to what you want in real-time, but you're also getting expert suggestions, maximizing the experience. The coolest feeling was skipping the massive amount of tour groups and getting into other places they could not get to or being on your own timeline instead of being in a rush or being delayed. Next is the guide. From start to finish, that guide is with you. My guide for this trip was Mouad; this dude was awesome. He is definitely a people person and can read someone well which is important in understanding what exactly you want from the trip. I'm normally an introverted person so connecting with people can sometimes be difficult, but not with Mouad. I cannot count how many enjoyable experiences we had exchanging stories on cultural similarities and differences, joking around while getting a private tour of a casbah, or just sharing a good meal with one another. Another important detail is he was able to read when my social battery was running on empty and was able to take a step back to let me recharge and be in solitude without me saying anything. He is an exceptional guide that is a true professional in his craft. I cannot recommend him enough. Another piece to this is the network of people and resources he has. Any town you go to, if you needed something, needed to go somewhere specific, or wanted to do something different Mouad was able to make it happen. This is something you absolutely will not get going alone, or with a large tour company. Lastly, as a testament to the true professional Mouad is, he invited me into his home with his family to enjoy a mid-afternoon snack and be in the company his family. While leaving the Sahara I mentioned I wanted to get a haircut. At that time we were getting into the town where him and his family were living. So he arranged for his barber to meet us at his shop at the last minute. Because of this, there was going to be a wait, so he took me into his home where his delightful mother brewed some delicious tea and attempted to feed me until I couldn't eat and I exchanged a few short stories with his parents. They were extremely welcoming and really sealed in that unique experience I was looking for. Because I did not want to delay the timeline too long with an impromptu haircut, I decided to forego the Saharan haircut, but the memories I made with Mouad and his family will be one for the books. I could go on about how awesome Mouad is but the bare minimum you need to know is if you're going to Morocco, you need to use this guy. You will not regret it.

A great way to see and learn about Morocco - Our tour started with the person who tied it all together, Hamid, our driver, who made the necessary travel to all the locations both comfortable and a pleasure. The local guides were friendly spending several hours sharing their knowledge with us. The riads that we stayed in ranged from traditional with colorful mosaics to more modern, yet still Moroccan. The common element to all of them were the great staffs that were concerned about our wellbeing and that we started our day off with a delicious breakfast. We may have been able plan a trip on our own but I don’t think we would experienced or learned half of what we did. A beautiful country filled with friendly people. An experience we will never forget. Highly recommend Under Moroccan Sun Tours and thank you for a wonderful time!
