Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall - Here, you can explore various textual and graphic files and architectural models, providing a comprehensive understanding of Shanghai’s development. The hall highlights the city’s urbanization and modernization, showcasing miniatures of the city and extensive materials on city planning. High-tech methods are used to project Shanghai’s blueprint through 2020.

Yu Garden (Yuyuan) - Next, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the beautiful Yu Garden. Located in the old town, Yuyuan Garden is renowned for its intricate layout and delicate architecture. The garden’s treasure, Yu Ling Long (an exquisite jade stone), and an artificial hill are among the three most famous peaks in Southern China.

Yuyuan Bazaar - Then, visit the Yuyuan Bazaar, also known as Yuyuan Market, situated outside Yu Garden in the heart of Old Shanghai City, near the Old City God Temple. The area features traditional Chinese buildings now used as commercial stores selling local products, snacks, jewelry, souvenirs, antiques, and more.

Shanghai World Financial Center - Afterwards, head to the Shanghai World Financial Center and ascend to the 100th floor for panoramic city views. It is the world’s 8th tallest building and the 4th tallest in Mainland China. The 100th floor features a 55-meter-long viewing gallery, the second highest observation deck in China, surpassing the viewing platforms on the Canadian TV Tower (447 meters) and the Dubai Tower (440 meters).

The Bund (Wai Tan) - Next, visit the Bund area, a quintessential part of Shanghai. Located on the bank of the Huangpu River, the Bund is known for its charming riverside scenery and unique western and gothic architecture. You’ll have some free time to stroll around and take photos.

Shanghai - Finally, you’ll be driven back to your hotel, or you may choose to spend some time at nearby Nanjing Road.

Shanghai - Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby around 09:00 AM. You’ll be taken to the famous Zhujiajiao water town, a 60-minute drive away.

Zhujiajiao Ancient Town - Known as Shanghai’s Venice, Zhujiajiao water town has a history of over 1,700 years and covers 47 square kilometers (11,614 acres). The town features Kezhi Garden, Qing Dynasty Post Office, and Fangsheng Bridge, all worth visiting. Your guide will accompany you to these sites.

Jade Buddha Temple - After lunch, visit the Jade Buddha Temple, built in 1882 to house two white jade Buddha statues from Burma. The temple is a significant Buddhist shrine and active Zen monastery, playing a crucial role in promoting Buddhism through cultural activities, lectures, and a library.

Tianzifang - Later, conclude your tour at Tianzifang, a cultural block with distinctive Shikumen buildings, art studios, themed cafés and bars, and handicraft workshops.

Wulong Karst Geological Park - Wulong is known for its unique karst landforms, including stone bridges, caves, pits, eroded sinkholes, and gorges. It gained international fame from Michael Bay’s movie “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” which showcased the Three Natural Bridges. Other notable sites include Furong Cave, Longshuixia Gap, and Fairy Mountain.

Wulong Tiankeng Three Bridges - After a hearty lunch at a local restaurant, your tour of Chongqing Wulong Karst begins with the Three Natural Bridges, a key feature of this world heritage area. These giant stone arch bridges are unique wonders. During the 2-2.5 hour visit, you’ll also stop by an ancient staging post near Qinglong Bridge, built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907) for official business and guest reception. The well-preserved wooden courtyards have over 20 rooms remaining. After some free time to explore, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel, arriving around 18:30.

Chongqing - At the end, your guide will escort you to your Chongqing hotel.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport - In the morning at 8:00 AM, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and drive you to Chongqing airport for your flight to Xi’an. You may book flight MU2262, departing at 10:35 and arriving at 12:05.

Xi’an Xianyang International Airport - Upon arrival in Xi’an, you’ll be picked up and transferred to the Terracotta Army, a 60-minute drive away.

The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses - Your guide will reserve tickets online in advance, helping you skip the entrance line. You’ll explore the museum, visiting the three excavated pits and the Bronze Chariots and Horses Exhibition Hall. Despite being buried for over 2,200 years, the clay warriors and horses remain vivid with distinct appearances. You’ll spend at least two and a half hours at this remarkable site.

Shaanxi History Museum - Next, continue your Xi’an tour at the Shaanxi History Museum. The museum, a treasure house of Chinese civilization, showcases Shaanxi’s unique historical and cultural heritage. With around 370,000 antiquities ranging from prehistoric relics to those from the 1840s, the collection spans over a million years and is highly valuable. Your guide will provide detailed explanations.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta) - Instead of entering the temple, you’ll have a photo stop at the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda for half an hour. The pagoda, built during the Tang Dynasty, was once the site for Monk Xuanzang to translate Buddhist sutras. The south square outside the temple features the pagoda and a statue of Monk Xuanzang.

Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang) - At Tiananmen Square, you can take photos of the Tiananmen Tower, Monument to People’s Heroes, and Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao. The square, located in the center of Beijing, has witnessed numerous historical events and assemblies over the past centuries. It now hosts grand celebrations, military parades, and welcoming ceremonies for foreign leaders. Visitors can admire the Monument to People’s Heroes and the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, as well as the traditional Tiananmen Tower, Zhengyang Gate, and Qianmen Arrow Tower.

Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Next, you’ll cross Tiananmen Tower to visit the Forbidden City, where 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) lived and managed national affairs. The Forbidden City, the largest and best-preserved old wooden complex in the world, is divided into the Inner Court and Outer Court by the Palace of Heavenly Purity. The Outer Court was for handling affairs, while the Inner Court was the living area for the imperial family. The complex is also a vast museum with over a million national treasures on display.

Mutianyu Great Wall - Upon arrival at the scenic area’s parking lot, you’ll take an electric car to the entry and then a chairlift to the 14th watchtower. Enjoy a leisurely 2-hour hike on the wall, ending with a toboggan ride down. The Mutianyu Great Wall, built and restored in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), is one of the most famous sections of the Wall. Known for its reputation of “Out of all the Great Walls, Mutianyu stands apart,” this section offers a chance to learn its history and significance. Temple of Heaven - Your first stop is the Temple of Heaven, the largest royal ceremonial building group in China. Emperors held annual sacrificial ceremonies here to worship heaven and pray for good harvests. Now a large park, it also hosts local people engaging in exercises and recreational activities.

Back Lakes (Hou Hai) - Next, visit Beijing Hutong, where you’ll take a rickshaw ride through the old alleys and visit a Hutong family to see how old Beijingers live. The area has many popular restaurants, cafes, and local food stores, making it a great place for lunch. Your guide will offer suggestions. After lunch, stroll around Houhai Lake and explore more of the Hutong area.

Lama Temple (Yonghegong) - After the Hutong visit, you’ll be driven to the Lama Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Beijing. It combines architectural styles from various groups, including Han, Manchu, Mongol, and Tibet. Open to tourists since 1981, the temple attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually for praying and sightseeing.

Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - A 30-minute drive will take you to the Summer Palace, known as the museum of ancient royal gardens. Your expert guide will show you around the garden, which mainly consists of Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake. The Long Corridor, 728 meters (796.2 yards) long, is the longest corridor in Chinese gardens, linking Longevity Hill with Kunming Lake. Guilin - Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby around 08:30 AM. You’ll be taken to the famous Reed Flute Cave, a 30-minute drive away.

Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan) - Upon arrival, you’ll enter the underground karst cave and marvel at the stunning formations of stalagmites and stalactites. The cave is renowned for its bamboo shoot-shaped formations, pillars, curtains, and flowers, creating a splendid underground palace. Inside, you’ll discover more astonishing sights, such as stone lions, miniature forests, pagodas, and crystal chambers, each with a romantic or interesting story. The guide’s vivid interpretation and the lighting add mystery to the scene. The cave visit lasts about 40 minutes.

Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - After a two-hour drive, you’ll reach the entrance to the Longji Terraces in Ping’an Village, home to the most famous and beautiful rice terraces in Longji. The Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces, with a history of over 650 years, are a splendid agricultural spectacle. The Ping’an Village Rice Terrace, the earliest discovered by tourists and photographers, features narrow rice fields forming terraces connected by winding flagstone trails. Viewing platforms offer panoramic views of the terraces. You can also experience the traditional way of life of the Zhuang people, including helping in the fields, trying on their colorful costumes, and visiting their unique stilted houses.

Ping’an Village - Upon arrival, you’ll take a moderate trek along steps to Ping’an Zhuang Village, a 40-minute walk. Your guide will show you around the village, where you can see the Zhuang people’s unique wooden stilted houses. After a short lunch break, continue your terrace exploration to the No.2 Viewing Platform (Seven Stars with the Moon), a 15-minute walk, offering a fantastic bird’s-eye view of the Longji Terraces. You’ll have ample time for photos and to enjoy the fresh air. Then, head to the No.1 Viewing Platform (Nine Dragons and Five Tigers), a 30-minute walk along a flat path.

Guilin - Afterwards, you’ll return to your Guilin hotel by private car around 17:30 PM, with free time for the rest of the evening.

Guilin - In the morning, your guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel around 07:45 AM and escort you to the Zhujiang pier to start the Guilin Li River cruise to Yangshuo (4-star boat with buffet lunch).

Li River - Boarding is scheduled for 9:20 AM, and the journey takes about 4 hours. With your guide’s company and interpretation, you’ll immerse yourself in the stunning karst landscape of rolling hills, verdant forests, odd caves, and tranquil villages along the Li River. A buffet Chinese lunch will be served on board before you reach Yangshuo at 2:00 PM.

Xianggong Mountain - After disembarkation, you’ll drive to see Yangshuo’s Xianggong Hill. You’ll climb for 15 minutes along a moderately sloped staircase to reach the top. Lying between the famous Yellow Cloth Shoal and the Mural Hill, Xianggong Hill offers one of the best views of the Li River. The 180-degree bend of the river attracts countless visitors and photographers annually.

Guilin - At the end, your guide will escort you to your hotel/airport/train station, concluding your 13-day tour.
