Awesome tour guides - Pros: Our tour guides were fantastic! Sammy took us through the national parks and reserves in Kenya and we got to see all of the big five. He told us when he recommended us to wait and watch and when we should just go ahead. He always got us a prime viewing spot for lions, the great migration, etc. He also knew all of the other tour guides so he navigated us really well around all the parks. Emmanuel, our tour guide in Tanzania, had a more deliberate pace which worked out since we had already seen everything we wanted to see. His great wealth of knowledge was really helpful in learning more about the smaller animals. Our hotels by the national parks and in Nairobi were also excellent. We also appreciated how all the transportation from place to place were all arranged. Cons: I would modify this itinerary so there is no extra day between Maasai Mara and Serengeti. You can do that drive in one day rather than staying at the border. I would also add an extra day in Zanzibar. We also asked for a hike rather than the last park because it was much easier to see all the animals than we had thought. George, the manager, did his best- I definitely had to remind him of what was included, etc. The number of meals included is not correct and you will have to pay more because this is a 14-day itinerary, which is 2 more days than it states on the title. But, as long as you communicate and advocate, this is a good price and itinerary.
