Nyungwe Forest National Park - Pick up, transfer to Nyungwe National Park, and overnight stay at the forest resort.
Our driver-guide will pick you up from your location at 9 AM.
Drive towards the South-West of Rwanda to Nyungwe National Park. This 4-hour and 30-minute road trip offers scenic views of the lush, green landscape of the Land of a Thousand Hills. Feel free to request a stop to take photos of your favorite spots; the guide can also suggest the best locations for pictures.
Optional: On the way to Nyungwe, you can visit the King’s Palace for a brief cultural tour, the Ethnographic Museum, and the Genocide Memorials.
Arrive at Nyungwe National Park.
Optional: You can go for a canopy walk or visit the waterfall.
Check in to your accommodation.
Dinner time.
Relax at the resort or take a nature walk to the tea plantation.

Chimpanzee Tracking and Drop Off at Your Place

Nyungwe Forest National Park - Chimpanzee trekking starts early in the morning. At 5:00 AM, we will be at the park reception. The tour guide will pick you up and take you to the reception for a short briefing before driving to the trek’s starting point. When you encounter a chimpanzee group, you will have an hour to spend with them! You will get the chance to observe their daily activities and learn about their behaviors. Your knowledgeable tour guide will share fascinating facts about these unique primates. You will see how social chimpanzees are, identify the group leader, understand family life, such as how babies are cared for, and learn about the group’s size.
At the end of the experience, have lunch.
Drive back to Kigali.
