Highlights

Nairobi – Masai Mara (approx: 265kms- 5-6 hrs)

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel or residence. Should you be arriving on an early morning flight, we’ll arrange for your airport pickup.

Around 8am with our group all set, we’ll head out to the Masai Mara National Reserve. We’ll be traveling through Masai country, exploring the floor of the Great Rift Valley.
We’ll progress to the Mara, taking in local homesteads and perhaps Maasai herdsmen in their colorful wraps, tending to their cattle.

We’ll stop during our journey to stretch and admire the scenic drama of the Rift Valley escarpment.

Arriving at the Masai Mara in the afternoon, we’ll have plenty of time for our first game drive over the savannah of this beautiful park, with its many iconic acacia trees punctuating the landscape.

This rich and diverse eco-system offers the most wildlife of any park in the region so be ready for plenty of animal spotting.

Full day at the Masai Mara.

Maasai Mara National Reserve - This will be a day of unlimited game drives for your group. Explore the depth and breadth of the most famous park in the world.

Sightings of the Big Five are not uncommon so keep an eye out for lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino.

Your group will have an opportunity to drive down to the Mara River, site of the Great Migration when in season – July through October. The immense herds of wildebeest and zebra are a magnificent sight, matched only by the drama of the predators who lie in wait for them.

At the river, we’ll see hippos but also camouflaged in their natural habitat we’ll spot the many crocodiles awaiting the wildlife traversing the river. This is a spectacle that has played out for millennia.

To bring more texture to your experience at the Mara, you may want to take advantage of several optional events we offer. Experience a visit to the local Maasai people in their nearby village. Meet these indigenous people and see up close their ancient lifestyle and culture.

Masai Mara – Nairobi(265 kms- 5-6 hrs)

Maasai Mara National Reserve - We’ll all be up early and jump into the 4 x 4 Jeep to make the most of our final day in the park. If you haven’t already spotted hyena, cheetah, jackal or any of the larger wildlife, now’s a good time to add them to your list.

After breakfast, we’ll enjoy one more final game drive through the Masai Mara on our way to exiting the park.

We’ll head back to Nairobi, again taking in the scenic wonder of the Rift Valley escarpment, with a stop for lunch along the way.

Masai Mara Safari with the family - July 2024 - Nice safari, well organised, lots of animals spotted, good accomodation. Everything was well organised by our guide and by NWS (Aggrey), so really very good. As non positive notes, not linked to Natural World but to Masai Mara park organisation; a) the safari price was super high, perhaps other parks could be cheaper? In fact it seems the entrance fee to Masai mara has been increased remarkably the in last couple of years b) The park is quite overcrowded with cars trying to chase and spot the animal. We expected a less busy situation. Perhaps other parrks are less busy?

Tour exceeded expectations - Highly recommend Natural World Kenya Safaris in helping plan a Maasai Mara safari. We dealt with Aggrey who provided exceptional customer service and was very informative and prompt in his responses. He recommend a gorgeous lodge for us to stay at, Mara Maisha camp which was excellent (the food, service and accomodation). Our driver/guide Dan was also excellent and was able to take us to locations in the Maasai where we saw so many incredible animals.

Great experience and lessons learned. - We've just arrived back from our Masai Mara Safari, and I must say, it was an absolutely incredible experience. Natural World Kenya Safaris proved to be an exceptionally trustworthy company. Mike, who organized our Safari and accommodations at Zebra River Camp, was extremely helpful. He promptly addressed all my inquiries via email and phone. Our driver, Tony, was consistently punctual and remarkably personable. He skillfully positioned the jeep to ensure we had the best possible vantage points to witness the array of animals during our safari drives. Zebra River Camp surpassed all expectations with its exceptional cleanliness and incredibly welcoming staff. Samuel, the Manager, consistently checked in on us to ensure our comfort, while John, who served our tables during our three-day two-night stay, was an absolute gentleman. His attentive care ensured that my wife and I felt thoroughly looked after. Without hesitation, I will be seeking out Natural World Kenya Safaris again in the near future. My experience with the souvenir shops along the route to the camps was extremely disappointing. None of the items had price tags, and when I inquired about the prices, they quoted exorbitant amounts and expected me to haggle, which was both time-consuming and emotionally draining. Despite negotiating, the merchants would only slightly lower the prices, leaving me feeling overcharged. In my view, when we entered those shops, the merchants didn't see us as people but as opportunities for profit. While I acknowledge that being overcharged is a common experience for tourists worldwide, the extent of it here was unacceptable. My advice is to avoid purchasing anything from these shops and instead wait until you reach the park entrance, where local vendors approach your safari jeep offering similar items at much more reasonable prices, allowing for genuine bargaining. I would advise avoiding the Masai Village tour. This excursion offers a glimpse into village life, priced at $20.00 per person. Upon arrival, I encountered a Masai tribesman, the son of the Chief, wearing a modern G-Shock watch. Surprisingly, he introduced himself as "Joseph" in flawless English, rather than using a traditional tribal name. The tour began with a lively dance and chant by local villagers, followed by a visit to their homes where they demonstrated fire-making techniques using sticks and wooden bases. However, my enthusiasm waned when a villager demanded $21.68 for the stick and base, signaling a profit-driven agenda. Throughout the tour, "Joseph" stressed that proceeds supported village schools. Towards the end, we were directed to a row of kiosks selling souvenirs, each allegedly benefiting a different family member's child. Despite already purchasing souvenirs elsewhere, we felt compelled to buy more due to the repeated emphasis on supporting children's education. In total, we spent an additional $40.00 on souvenirs, on top of the entrance fees. It was evident that the tribesmen were displeased with our modest spending. In summary, the tour appeared to be a money-making scheme. I caution others against wasting money on it. A quick search on TripAdvisor validates my experience, revealing similar reviews. I want to reiterate that this critique in no way reflects on the excellent service provided by Natural World Kenya Safaris.

Safari to Maasai Mara - Everything was amazing, from the driver to the accomodation to the safari. Our driver Mike went above and beyond for us, made sure we got to see all the animals and drove up as close as he could.

Fantastic Safari! - Had a wonderful time and saw so many animals. My wife’s favorite are giraffes 🦒 and we saw what looked like a village! Francis, our guide, was tremendous spotting many opportunities for our family to enjoy. We would recommend this trip to anyone seeking a safari. Pat M.

Memorable and fun - We really struggled between three and four stars as it was an amazing time but there were some issues regarding the holiday that we both think can be improved upon. Firstly, no holiday is perfect. One needs to be flexible and open to change. With that said, punctuality and communication could be improved upon. The reality is that this is a 3.5 star review and we would book again as we communicated our issues and I truly feel the next time would be as perfect as is possible in any holiday. Lastly, our organizer Mike and our driver/guide Abu were excellent and worked hard to ensure our safety and enjoyment. Thanks for so many wonderful memories!!!

Amazing experience, some minor things - Firstly, we had the most amazing 3 day trip and I probably would have been rating this 5* if it was purely based on experience (as this is my first safari and I had nothing to compare it to) but there are a few things that brought this down for me :- 1) Timings of game drives - Given, we were a large group, however I feel we should have been leaving earlier to get to the parks. When speaking to other people I'm told they were on the roads by 6am to catch the early movement but we weren't getting going until 7:30 / 8am. 2) Our time in the parks was compromised by 'system failures', this was not the fault of the drivers however I believe it was the fault of the company. Our time in the parks was seriously affected every time we tried to enter (we were on a 3 day safari) we sat outside for at least 45 minutes! We were not happy about this and no doubt missed chances to see animals. 3) The Masai Village detour! I would have had no problem with this if it was advertised as what it actually is which is a fake masai 'village'. I'm happy to experience a fake village and be told this is what it was like years ago, I appreciate people have modernised now. It all felt a bit scheming and devious which put a damper on the whole thing, they also got paid A LOT of money from our group told lies about how it funds the schools then tried to force us into buying more of the same bracelets etc. which again they seriously over charge for, if anyone needs money it is not these people, I did not like this part of the tour. I think the safari company should re think this par of the tour. The pros were :- 1) Tsavo Park is sooo stunning, even when you're not seeing animals it's a beautiful thrilling drive! 2) The drivers are very accommodating and pleasant, our driver was Albert and he was extremely knowledgeable about the surroundings and animals. He done his best to get us to places when we were notified of spottings. We felt extremely safe in his car, he was definitely 5* driver :) 3) We saw most animals, although this is just pot luck and has nothing to do with the tours. 4) The lodges were stunning, clean and the food was incredible at both locations, lots of yummy choice - no faults whatsoever. Thank you for an amazing memorable experience. I would 100% do safari again, I don't think I would book through this company again due to reasons above. I'd like to try someone else, this has nothing to do with the drivers but it is to do with the company systems that don't seem to run very smoothly.
