Three day tour of Tsavo East and Amboseli - WE experienced a fantastic 3 day Safari to Tsavo East and Amboseli, staying overnight at the Satao Camp in Tsavo and the Kobo camp at Amboseli. We were picked up from the Waterlovers Beach resort in Diana Beach at 0700 and after a rather hair-raising journey on a short cut, arrived at Tsavo for lunch which was excellent outside dining overlooking the watering hole with Impalas roaming around. We were given Tent number 11 (thanks I think to our driver and guide Patrick) which again overlooked the watering hole. After lunch it was off to explore the park seeing Giraffes, elephants, gazelles and Wildebeasts, then back for drinks in front of a roaring campfire, then dinner. An overnight sleep then an excellent breakfast with loads of choices before a further tour of the park. We then travelled on to Amboseli to the Kibo camp, with a quick stop at the Masai camp to experience a wonderful welcoming ceremony from them and a tour round their accommodation and opportunity to experience life as a aMasai. We had a lovely lunch and were escorted to our tent which was number 15 with a fantastic view of Mount Kilimanjaro again (I think arranged by Patrick). Then it was off to a wonderful tour of Amboseli with numerous elephants, some almost within touching distance. Patrick knew the park well and ensured we say all possible animals. Then a lovely dinner at Kobo including an entertaining birthday dance by the star for on of the customers. The following morning it was off for a further tour where we experienced a pride of about 9 lions encircling a lone wildebeest, fortunately it escaped. Then a long drive back to Nairobi. All in all a wonderful trip organised by Abel from Africa Kenya Safaris and escorted and driver throughout by Patrick .
