Casablanca to Fez via the Capital Rabat

Fes el-Bali - Morocco Today Travel - A private driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Casablanca. We will depart from the largest city in Morocco to explore Rabat, the capital. We will visit main sights including the Hassan Tower and Mausoleum. We will continue our Morocco trip by exploring the main sights of the largest old city in the world (Fez) with an expert local guide. Overnight in a beautiful traditional Riad.

DAY 2: FES TO MERZOUGA VIA MIDELT, ERRACHDIA THEN MERZOUGA

Erg Chebbi - Early in the morning, you will start the tour from Fez to Merzouga, the desert. You will have a stop in Ifrane, the Moroccan Swiss-style town, and pass through the cedar forest where you will stop to see the Barbary apes climbing the trees. Around 12 pm, you will arrive in Midelt, the capital of apples, and have lunch in a local restaurant. Then, you will continue the journey to the Tizi-n-Tlghamt pass and through the Ziz Valley with its fantastic gorges. Through the gorges, you will stop for breaks and pictures. This valley is also well-known for its palm groves and the agriculture of different crops like alfalfa, barley, etc. Then, you will reach Erfoud with its innumerable ‘ksars’, small villages of individual houses. Erfoud is also the place where the festival of dates is held in October every year and is known for its fossils as well. In the afternoon, you will arrive at the unique sand dunes of Merzouga. Overnight in a Berber tent in the middle of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes.

Merzouga to Marrakesh Explore Ait Ben Haddou

Ait Ben Haddou - DAY 3: ERG CHEBBI TO MARRAKESH THROUGH DRAA VALLEY AND WORLD HERITAGE SITE OF AIT BEN HADDOU.
Early in the morning, it would be nice to get up around 6:00 am for the sunrise. After watching, you will come back to your hotel for breakfast and a shower. Then, you will travel to Marrakesh through Rissani, Draa Valley, and many Berber towns and villages. On the way, you will visit Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most beautiful world heritage sites in Morocco. Driving through the High Atlas Mountains is also very good for enjoying picturesque landscapes along the way to Marrakesh. Drop off at your accommodation in Marrakesh.

Unforgettable Morocco Trip - We reached out to Morocco Today Travel for a customized private tour of Morocco. Because of the pandemic, we wanted to make sure that we found a tour company that would meet our two priorities: we wanted to maximize our time while in Morocco and hoped to visit Chefchaouen, Fes and the Sahara Desert (all within four days). We also needed to find COVID-19 test results to board our plane back to the United States which initially worried us. While other tour companies told us that this was impossible in such a short amount of time , only Morocco Today Travel promised to make this all happen. They sent us a detailed itinerary of each day, including pickup and drop-off to Casablanca Airport. They even scheduled our COVID-19 tests at a local hospital, receiving our negative results in just a day. The tour itself was nothing short of incredible. While we had limited time in each destination each day, the tour exceeded our expectations. They arranged our stays in the most beautiful accommodations, and we even had the entire riya (palace) to ourselves in Fes! We were so lucky to have our friendly guide, Hamid. He drove us around in a comfortable 4x4 car and was an expert driver, as we drove anywhere from 4-9 hours per day. Our local guide in Fes, Jamal, was so passionate about his city and knew how to navigate the entire medina -- it felt like a maze! The highlight of the trip was definitely the Sahara desert. We spent the night in a luxury camp with a fire pit, stargazing, delicious meals and great traditional Berber music. Overall, traveling during the pandemic can be difficult.
