Key Places to Visit: Mount Kilimanjaro; Observation Hill, offering panoramic views of the whole park including the marshes and elephant herds; the marsh beneath Observation Hill is home to numerous elephants, buffaloes, hippos and a myriad of water birds such as pelicans and Egyptian geese; the modern Maasai culture and its native lifestyle; and the large congregations of elephants.
Wildlife Highlights: Amboseli is home to over 80 distinct mammal species ranging from the diminutive and seldom-sighted spectacled elephant shrew to the majestic African elephant. It’s rare for guests to leave without capturing exceptional photos of elephants with the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. The park also supports a diverse bird population with over 400 species.
