Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Upon arrival at the airport or after breakfast at your hotel, your driver guide will pick you up and take you directly to Tarangire National Park. This park is one of Tanzania’s largest, spanning 2,600 square kilometers. It is renowned for its large elephant herds and massive baobab trees. Visitors can see herds of over 300 elephants, large groups of buffalo, and healthy populations of lions and leopards. During the dry season, Tarangire boasts the highest concentration of mammals in the country. The park is also home to wild dogs, rare antelopes like the gerenuk, and over 550 bird species year-round. You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park in the afternoon. After lunch and more game viewing, you will head to your campsite for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast at your campsite, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at the viewpoint of the Ngorongoro Crater before descending into it. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, forming a stunning bowl of about 265 square kilometers with sides up to 600 meters deep, and is home to approximately 30,000 mammals. The crater offers breathtaking scenery and is the best place in East Africa to see the ‘Big Five’ (elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion, and occasionally leopard). It is one of the most beautiful safari destinations in the world and a unique place to meet people from the Maasai tribe. The Ngorongoro Crater also offers excellent birding opportunities, with over 500 species. You will have packed picnic lunch boxes, and after lunch at the picnic site, you will continue with a game drive until late afternoon, then drive to your campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
Lake Manyara National Park - After breakfast at your campsite, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This is one of Tanzania’s smallest parks, known for its tree-climbing lions and as a bird paradise. The park hosts a wide variety of birds, including thousands of flamingos that feed along the lake’s edge during the wet season. You can also see great white pelicans, yellow-billed storks, Marabou storks, grey herons, palm-nut vultures, hawks, and many more. The park is home to numerous animals such as elephants, wildebeest, zebras, Thomson’s gazelles, and Grant’s gazelles. Predators in the park include lions, hyenas, and black-backed jackals. Lunch will be served at a picnic site, and after further exploration of the park, you will drive back to Arusha, marking the end of your adventure with us.
