Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park and Batwa Community Trail

Entebbe - On your arrival at Entebbe international airport (EBB), you will be met by a Dav safaris staff that will brief you. This is a long day drive of approximately 7 hours with lunch stop over en route. Though long, the drive takes you through different features to include tropical rain forests, savannah fields and the terraced hills of Kigezi famously known as the Switzerland of East Africa. Upon arrival in Bwindi we shall check in at the lodge and proceed to the Batwa community for the cultural adventure about these forest pygmies. You will spend the rest of day at leisure as you wait for the next day’s adventure. Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner

Gorilla Trekking And transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Canoe Ride

Kibale National Park - After an early morning breakfast, and with your picnic lunch we then take a short drive to the park offices for briefing where we meet the excellent local guides and trackers who give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla trekking. We then hike into the forest to a spot where gorillas were seen the previous night and track from there. Trekking may take anything between 1 to 6 hours depending on the location of the family and altitudes which is in excess of 7500 feet.

Transfer to Kampala via Equator line

Entebbe - After breakfast, start on the long drive back to Entebbe / Kampala with the memory of the great rare mountain Apes. It was truly perfect!!!! - Had an unforgettable experience visiting many national parks, game drives, rhino/chimpanzee/gorilla trekking and so much more! All the lodges that I stayed at was memorable. Reagan did a great job helping with my itinerary and was very attentive when I had questions. My guide and driver JOYOUS put the icing on the cake. Very patient, knowledgeable, punctual, funny and just all around great human! He made it very special for my birthday. Looking forward to come back with friends in the near future.

Incredible gorilla trekking tour - Had a wonderful experience with Dav’s safaris! Their communication before the gorilla trek was very helpful, and the team was extremely responsive to all our questions. From the moment Benjamin picked us up from the airport, we had an incredible trip! He made us feel welcome and taken care of. Our accommodation was absolutely stunning and very clean with running hot water and delicious food. We had so much fun and can’t wait to come back and visit Dav’s team again!!

Amazing journey through Rwanda and Uganda - I went on the 4 day golden monkey and gorilla tracking tour through Rwanda and Uganda. Overall, I would say that the itinerary, the stay, and Benjamin (my amazing driver / guide) were incredible! The actual activities of golden monkey tracking and gorilla tracking were great, put on by Volcanoes and Bwindi national parks. But more focus on Dav Safaris. Before the tour, Dav Safaris was very helpful in communication through both email and WhatsApp. When there was an issue with the payment, Dav Safaris had no issue waiting for me to finish the first day to try and send the money again. And about Benjamin, he was fantastic from the start! Always on time, very knowledgeable about both Rwanda and his country, Uganda, and made me feel very safe for my first time visiting anywhere in Africa. 10/10 would recommend Dav Safaris again just for Benjamin's expertise as a driver and tour guide.

Great all around experience - We did a full week trekking excursion with Dav Safaris and it was great! Richard our tour guide/driver was excellent as he was always checking in on whether we needed to stop while we were on the road, he answered any questions we had, and he always had great stories to tell. This is particularly important if you are doing the full week tour where you are driving a lot throughout the country. Dav Safaris chose great accommodations with plenty of space, comfort, and friendly staff. The various treks we did were amazing. We saw Murchinson falls, we went to the Ziwa rhino sanctuary, we did a game drive, we saw the chimpanzees, and we saw the gorillas. Communication with Dav Safaris was great and they were always very attentive.

Professionally organised, polite, and safe - I booked only days in advance, yet it was more professionally organised than the other safaris i had done elsewhere. Dav Safaris was also the first to respond among all operators. Smooth operation, safe driving, and great accommodation choices. This was the most comfortable safari I have done among Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. My driver Siro also kept an eye out for all the local food that I wanted to try along the way. I had a great time.

Once in a lifetime experience - This trip was absolutely incredible. Both Rwanda and Uganda are beautiful countries and seeing the mountain gorillas was just a once in a lifetime experience. Everything was well organised, timings were exactly as agreed, no issues with transportation. Our guide, Charles, did everything he could to make sure we were comfortable and explained what was happening at every stage. He also answered all our questions and was very friendly and warm. We also added on an additional experience of going to a woman's community cooperative to learn banana beer making which Charles arranged for us. It was such a fun experience - the ladies had us up dancing and made us so welcome. The gorilla trek was of course the highlight and the main reason we were there. Again, everything was well organised and you know what to expect. The trek is difficult and you do need a level of fitness, but so worth it to see these amazing animals. All accommodation was clean, warm and comfortable and the lodge on the lake was very nice indeed. Food was always absolutely fine with vegetarian choices available but my tip would be to pack a few snacks if you want something extra in between meals. We didn't and there wasn't really anywhere to buy anything like that. All your drinking water is supplied though. I would highly recommend this tour as it really was the trip of a lifetime.

The best tour experience I've ever had. - I don't normally leave reviews, but Dav Safaris and particularly our guide Joyous deserve recognition for what was an incredible 5 day tour of Uganda for me and my friends. First, Reagan was incredibly helpful in promptly devising a customised tour itinerary that included everything we wanted to see in a very short window of time, and for a fair price. The highlights were countless; we saw more than we ever expected to. The accommodation was always comfortable, safe and clean, with delicious food including daily packed lunches for our action packed itinerary. Our tour guide, Joyous, was quite simply the best guide I've ever come across in years of travelling across the world. He was not only a reliable and safe driver despite the significant distances we were covering everyday, but he was always calm, patient and good humoured. We learned a lot from him about Uganda, and became fast friends. The resulting experience was one that we will never forget. If you're visiting Uganda, there's no need to look beyond Dav Safaris and Joyous - they're as good as they come.

Fun, well-planned and safe itinerary for solo travelers - I had a fantastic experience with Dav Safari. I highly recommend to go with Dav Safari. 1. The service was great from the whole team: Reagan was super responsive and helpful as I made my booking super last minute (1 week before trek start). My local guide, Shafik, is the most amazing driver ever. He is also super professional, always on time and helpful, and knowledgeable about the country, safari, and gorilla trekking. I felt very safe as a female solo traveler. 2. The itinerary is very well planned. What’s different/better from the other tours is that you get to stay at Lake Bunyonyi on day 2 and enjoy the beautiful view after gorilla trekking on an island/from a tree house.

Dishonest and rude - We organized our trip from back home. The Manager, Reagan, helped us with our itinerary which included seeing both gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda. A few days before arrival, we witnessed that there had been misunderstandings about the dates, and Dav Safari's seemed to be accomodating in making changes to the itinerary. Thereafter, the manager Reagan, became quite rude and unaccomodating. After seeing the gorillas, which was an amazing experience, we had a very early morning start and long drive north to Kibale forrest for the chimpanzee trek the following day. However, the driver/guide told us 6 hours into the drive that we were in a hurry to make the chimpanzee trek the same afternoon due to the park being closed the next day for research purposes. We were surprised and became suspicious and called the Manager who had a long briefing about the park being closed and that there was no way the trek could be done the next day. We stressed to reach the forest in time, did not have time for stops on our way (9 hour journey), had to change clothes in the car and arrived one our late to the chimpanzee trek. Once we reached Kibale forest, we only had time for a very short hike as closing hours were approaching. Neither our bodies or minds and impressions had been recovered or processed from the gorillas the day before, so the chimpanzee trek felt somewhat surreal. As we expected that Dav Safaris lied, we asked the Kibale forest park about closing, which were quickly notified was inaccurate. The Manager Reagan was notified but did not feel sorry about our experience but only bothered that we would not submit a negative review as it would harm his reputation. Considering that we paid a lot of money for our trip, that our itinerary was changed without our knowledge and cut short, I would not recommend Dav Safaris if you want a full, honest , and problem-free experience.
