Highlights

Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara - Meet our professional tours guide/driver in Arusha town, who will deliver a short safari info briefing, after which, we travel to the Lake Manyara National Park. We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch we head into the Lake Manyara National Park. This impressive park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast we descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a morning, half-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater, after which we travel to the Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park – Arusha

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast do we head into the Tarangire National Park for a morning game drive. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. We return to the lodge for lunch after which we will depart for Arusha town and we will end our African safari adventure. The group should tip the tour guide around $20 a day for all our safaris. You will be taken to your hotel, which ends our safari packages services.

Excellent safari - Incredible experience. Highly recommended. They fulfilled everything promised and everything was very well organized. They offered me the same thing for double the money at other agencies. 100% recommendable.

Great safari! - An excellent safari experience: our guide, Maliaki, was superb. He was a great host, incredibly knowledgeable about the environment, dealt with a rather difficult fellow traveller with great skill and diplomacy and maintained a steady pace to the trip.

Incredible Safari! - I was traveling solo through Africa and tried to find options to see a range of the noteworthy parks of northeast Tanzania. Rupia offered a perfect package for this. Especially finding something as an individual at a reasonable price was difficult as many companies book private safari. Matt planned everything including lodging and airport transfers. Even helped me store some extra luggage I had before setting out. He grouped me with other travelers which was great to meet others as we set out on the three day safari. Our guide Andrew was incredible and found us all the wildlife as we went through the three parks. He knew every answer to questions and knew the parks like the back of his hand. We had amazing run ins with elephant and lion very close. Will never forget it

The best Safari company there is - It was an amazing experience. We booked the 4 day safari going to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongo Crater. We saw a lot of animals and even a hunt which is quite rare to see. Matt the owner is really good in organising everything and the communication went smoothly. Our driver Erasto was the best guide we could have asked for, amazing conversations with him made our trip even more memorable. The food was prepared by Omari who was our cook during the whole safari and let me tell you he was amazing. Every single meal was thought through, really tasty and different. Thank you Matt, Erasto and Omari for making our trip to Tanzania better that we could have imagined.

Safaris very good but accommodation conditions poor - The safari itself is well organized with the 3 parks quite different which avoids monotony, our guide is very friendly and speaks French. Some downsides however: - payment conditions: Matt would like to deal directly (without going through Tripadvisor to avoid the commission). It was very urgent, unpleasant limit on our WhatsApp exchanges to obtain his deposit, deposit difficult to transmit due to the fact that Rupia does not have a bank account accepting WU transfers - accommodation => We had agreed with Matt that we had to go to the Sunbright campsite. Finally, without warning and without apologizing, we found ourselves in a very low-end tent camp with shared toilets. After calling Matt, we were moved to a solid hotel but where the electricity and hot water were very uncertain.

Tour operator with unreliable equipment and trust issues - Having booked a family safari trip, we were provided with a malfunctioning vehicle. Indeed, the first thing we did after being picked up at the hotel in Arusha was to go to the mechanic to fix the gear....a full morning lost...shameful and not professional at all to be greeted with a non-conforming car... Afterwards, when accessing Manyara Park, we were informed that the entrance was blocked due to severe rain. This is understandable. What is not acceptable is that Rupia kept the USD300 of the ticket entrance and, until today, did not return the money....shameful and again not professional... I definitely not recommend Rupia and, in particular, found that Matt did not honour his word. Bad omens for a tourism business...
