Highlights

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara - After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and head to Lake Manyara National Park for a day of game viewing. “Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its flamingos that inhabit the lake. The park is home to over 400 bird species, many of which are present year-round, making it an excellent location for bird watching. The park also hosts a variety of wildlife including leopards, Masai lions, cheetahs, elephants, blue monkeys, dik-diks, gazelles, hippopotami, Masai giraffes, impalas, zebras, and more, many of which can be seen throughout the year.” We will spend the morning on game drives within the park, followed by an early picnic lunch. After lunch, we will have another game drive as we exit the park and then proceed to Karatu for an overnight stay at Eileen’s Trees Lodge or a similar accommodation.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast, we will depart for Ngorongoro Crater via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will have the opportunity to stop at the Ngorongoro Crater “viewpoint” before descending into the renowned Ngorongoro Crater. Often referred to as the eighth natural wonder of the world, this heritage site is a stunning wildlife sanctuary. Ngorongoro is home to over 20,000 large animals, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos, which are protected within the crater’s rim (though sightings are rare). We will have a morning game drive in the crater, followed by a picnic lunch at a designated site. After lunch, we will continue game viewing as we exit the crater and head to Mto wa Mbu town for an overnight stay at Burudika Lodge.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Tarangire National Park for a morning of game viewing. We will have a picnic lunch and then continue with an afternoon game drive. The park is notable for its large number of baobab trees, which create a striking landscape and dwarf the animals that graze beneath them. Herds of up to 300 elephants can be seen roaming the park, along with migratory wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, impalas, gazelles, hartebeests, and elands. After the afternoon game drive, we will return to Arusha town for drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight. Note: Accommodation for this night is not included in the package.

Jeff has the "eagle eyes" with Dusty Roads Adventures. - Jeff has the "eagle eyes"!. He was a fantastic driver and tour guide. I did not like staying at The Green Mountain Hotel although the staff was very good. The internet was poor and our daughter had just had a baby that day so we were desperate to make contact. Oh well, c'est la vie, it all turned out. Jeff was an outstanding driver. He took us to the Nongorogoro look out, the Masai village and then on to the actual Serengeti. The Serengeti was breathtaking but it is not for the faint hearted. You will see stalking and death. It's an animal kingdom! The Osero tented camp, honestly it was the best meal I've had in Africa and I've been here a year! The tilapia fish was outstanding. The fellows there were wonderful. The tent was first class, gorgeous bedroom and bathroom area. We ended our vacation in Zanzibar staying at Waware Beach Hotel. Dusty Roads prepared the whole tour for us and it was wonderful the whole way around! While its not five star in hotels, the service is definitely five star. Everyone gave 100% attention to us and for that we are very grateful! Highly recommended.

Phenomenal experience - Dusty Roads put together a trip of a lifetime! The communication with the main office was prompt and professional. They came recommended by friends who had been on a safari the previous year so we felt comfortable and confident booking and paying in advance. Even though the safari vehicle seats six, it was just the two of us and our guide in the car. We asked about this and found out they typically book one car per group or family so you aren’t in a car with people you don’t know. Jeff was our safari guide. He did a wonderful job. He truly has an eagle eye! He can spot wildlife at great distances and his love of Tanzania’s flora and fauna is infectious. He seemed genuine excited to teach us about the animals and birds, even after many years as a tour guide. We appreciated that Jeff was always looking out for how we were doing and communicating with us about our plans what we wanted to do. His kindness is what made the experience so special. I can’t recommend Dusty Roads enough. Asante sana for a phenomenal experience.

Fabulous company to organise hiking and safari trip!! - Dusty Roads have been an absolutely awesome company that have organised both our hike up Mount Meru and safaris in Tarangire NP, Serengeti NP and Ngorongoro crater as well as all our accommodation and transport! The guides Abdul for Mount Meru (plus the porters and cook) and Geofrey for the safaris were excellent and very knowledgable! The accommodation in all locations were superb! This is an excellent company and HIGHLY recommend using them to organise your trip to Tanzania! Will recommend to friends and family and hopefully use again when we return! Asante sana 🙏🙏

Simply Amazing Experience & Now In Love With Tanzania - Where do I even start? This was our first safari and it was simply amazing! We chose Dusty Roads Tours as our safari company and each day was more amazing than the last. We saw many many amazing animals at a very close range. Our tour guide, Justine, was spectacular! He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly where to go to show us lions in trees and a lion eating a wildebeest and the list goes on! He was very friendly and helpful in ensuring I could get just the perfect photographic angle for capturing the best images. In the past, the only person who has ever stopped a car for me to get just the right photo, was my husband, but now Justine is added to that list! We could not have asked for a better guide to show us around Tanzania; a guide who really cared about my photography and his clients. We were well fed and well protected and hope that someday we can go back for another tour! Review by Rachel Trebolo Taylor (3 members in our family, plus another couple)

Outstanding guide and experience! - We had a wonderful experience on safari with Dusty Roads in October 2020! A couple members in our group are photographers and they appreciated our guide, Justine, making special efforts to find wildlife. Justine is knowledgeable about the birds, animals and plants of the three parks we visited. (Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater). Thank you for making this a special experience for us!

Tarangire-Serengeti-Ngorongoro - My brother came to visit Tanzania with his two kids (6 and 8) and we had an excellent trip with Dusty Roads Safari and Jeff as our driver. We flew into Arusha and set off to Tarangire for one day, Serengeti for one day and Ngorongoro for one day. With the kids it was just the perfect amount of time to enjoy everything (the animals, different parks, different locations). All of our accommodations were great (our favorite was staying in the Serengeti glamping tents) and it was great to share time together in this way - food was great and the kids enjoyed each place. Thank you very much Dusty Roads! Would highly recommend.

Short yet memorable - We were visiting friends in Moshi town and they recommended Dusty Roads for safari. We were very pleased with the details they provided and the prompt responses to emails while arranging our visit. We had a wonderful experience with our guide. We especially appreciated Jeff's willingness to pick us up in Moshi and to drop us there as well, even though he is based in Arusha. He was most patient and kind with two novice safari participants! He has a keen eye for wildlife and the driving skills to get us as near as possible to the wildlife. I want to give a rave review to our second night's lodgings, Eileen's Tree Inn. It was far superior to the previous night's lodgings, and the food was delicious. I also appreciated the variety of food in the boxed lunches; as a vegetarian, I always had options. We were thrilled with the variety of wildlife and felt well cared for throughout. Be sure to bring a good pair of binoculars for some of the more timid and distant animals.

Amazing holiday - We asked Dusty Roads to tailor make a trip for us that was 5 days safari and 10 days in Zanzibar and they couldn’t have done better. We stayed first in Arusha then Jeff picked us up on the Monday morning for 5 days covering Lake Manyara, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. Jeff was a fantastic guide and always follows what we wanted to do rather than all the other trucks. He was considerate and great company throughout the trip and made sure we saw everything we could, knowing the names of virtually every animal and bird. The accommodation chosen by Dusty Roads at Lake Manyara and the Serengeti was fabulous and we couldn’t have had a more memorable time. To top it off we flew to Zanzibar where they had also chosen the Zanzibar Retreat for us and arranged transfers. We spent 9 days relaxing and scuba diving and were very sorry to go home. The organisation by Dusty Roads was impeccable and they kept in regular contact to make sure everything was going well. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.
