An Unrivaled Journey Into The Past - This experience is unbeatable. Having never visited Egypt before, and being obsessed with ancient Egypt since I was a child, this experience met every expectation. Here is my honest review about all the components: The Egyptilogist Our private guide and now friend: Mahmoud was incredible. He brought the thousand year old stories inscribed on the walls to life. There is no way to fully appreciate the Temples without a professionally and academically trained guide. Additionally, he ensured my wife (who is not a history nerd like me) remained engaged by providing cultural experiences and not just historical knowledge. He showed us parts of the cities that we would not have seen otherwise. The Nile Cruise - El Jamila I would like to start by saying how welcoming, accommodating, and attentive the crew was. They represent the best of the Egyptian people And serve as great ambassadors of their country. The cabin was a bit on the smaller side, and definitely looked to be a bit worn, but ultimately we were not spending much time in there. The food was plentiful and delicious. Be prepared, though, to only eat during the designated times, as there are no options for snacks or food outside of the set meal hours. The Lounge is a good size and air conditioned in case you get too hot. The rooftop deck is very large, with lounge chairs towards the bow and tables toward the stern. I am unsure if it was due to the time of year (low season), but the upstairs bar was not open, and there was no music throughout the day. The pool is on the smaller side, and the water is not heated. Be warned - there is a lot of down time during sailing hours. Be sure to bring books, cards, games, etc. Try to not plan your schedules too tightly, as the ships will frequently be delayed due to the number of ships on the Nile (your guide will help accommodate plans). In all - I would highly recommend, as you cannot beat the experience and the memories you will gain for such a fantastic price.

The tour guy Ashraf is... - The tour guy Ashraf is very accommodating to our needs especially traveling with my mom’s bad knee. The experience with him was great. Unfortunately I chose the Blue Shadow 1 cruise from Aswan to Luxor. The cruise is very dirty and some staffs were very rude. I didn’t enjoy staying at this cruise at all besides the beautiful scenery. Do not use Blue Shadows at all.

Highly Recommend - Our guide was Mostafa and was not shared with other tour groups so it was just the two of us when we visited sites. We cruised on the Kahila by Sabena from Aswan to Luxor. The first night the ship moored in Aswan, followed by a day of cruising and visiting Kom Ombo and Edfu before arriving in Luxor where we moored for two nights. Mostafa was an excellent guide who gave us lots of context and highlighted unique or interesting frescoes or carvings in the sights we visited. He always gave us time to explore the site ourselves as well as giving advice/warning us about touts in certain locations. The boat was on the nicer end of what we saw on the Nile. Buffets for all meals, a bar and sun deck with pool. There was ‘entertainment’ some evening which we skipped so cannot comment.

3-Nights 4-Days Aswan to Luxor Cruise Tour plus optional day trips - The 3-nights 4-days cruise tour from Aswan to Luxor were wonderful and successful. The tour guide helped us to get to all the attractions as stated in the tour package. Besides, the tour guide also helped us to go to some optional sites such as Abu Simbel and Alexandria as the day trip. We enjoyed the tour with peace of minds and private tour guides. The tour guides are professional and experienced in the areas. They speak English well and good at communicating with us. We enjoyed all the arrangements and felt satisfactory. Will come back for another trip in the future.

Excellent Egypt - The best part of the cruise was our guide Ashraf from Gate2Egypttours. As a private guide he provided us with daily pickups to all the sites we wanted to see along with excellent knowledge of Egyptian history. He also had a very workable schedule that left us with time to ourselves. Most importantly we felt very comfortable and in good hands with Ashraf as an expert Egyptologist and guide. He never overloaded the schedule or insisted on us doing something we were not interested in. He also answered questions about recent events and culture in Egypt. Highly recommend Ashraf and Gate2Egypttours.

Great time cruising the Nile! - A great experience. Our guide was very intuitive and knew the answers to all our quest. Very interactive and accommodating. Spent time to ensure we got the most out of every day. The cruise ship staff were extremely helpful and polite. Overall couldn’t be happier with our first visit to Egypt and can’t wait to use this tour company again. Thank you!

Crew and Guide make the cruise. - The crew on the ship and Ashraf Elbadry our tour guide were the best parts of our trip. Our room number 206 was quiet and clean. I was disappointed in not sailing on the first night and then having to stay with the table we were assigned throughout the trip. The food was good and plentiful with several choices. However the last meal which was planned as special wasn't the best. The steak and the prawns were both on. I'm sure it isn't easy cooking for a lot of people at once so maybe the last meal should be just a simple variation on the other dinners where people choice what they want.

Awesome experience - Mostafa was our guide and the entire experience was wonderful. Everything was taken care of. The only reason that i have given a little less rating is because we felt that the cruise ship could be of a better standard. Not too say that the one we were in lacked anything, in fact the crew and the good was awesome. Perhaps this was due to the fact that we booked very late in the peak season. This cruise is really good otherwise and a great experience.

Underwhelming - The places we visited are excellent but we felt let down by the guides. Our guides are fairly friendly but their knowledge of Egyptian history and storytelling ability have much room for improvement. If we do it again, we would not get a guide and would just read from guide books which provide far better information.

Not luxury, disappointing trip. - Not what we was expecting, not one part of the boat and service is what anyone would call luxury. Private guide and transport was good. Overall not worth the price from a normal cruise tour.
