Highlights

Hike into the primary jungle

Amazonas Department - The tour begins at 9:00 am from Leticia at Carrera 11 Calle 13-110. From there, you’ll be transported by land 25 kilometers outside of Leticia, where you’ll meet indigenous guides from the Ticuna ethnic group to start the hike into the primary rainforest. This hike takes about two hours and leads to a native camp. Upon arrival at the base camp, you’ll have lunch and then prepare for an exploration walk around the camp, which can last from two to four hours. After returning to base camp, there will be a rest period where you can swim in a nearby river to bathe and relax. As night falls, you can either go fishing with the guides or embark on a night walk to search for wildlife. Once the evening activities conclude, dinner is served, and the activities pause until the next day.

Note: The order of activities may vary due to weather conditions or the guides’ decisions to ensure the best experience and safety.

Get to know native traditions and learn jungle survival techniques.

Amazonas Department - On the second day, you’ll learn jungle survival techniques and get acquainted with the traditions and customs of the Ticunas. Activities include weaving handicrafts with palm leaves, navigating the jungle, fishing, wildlife tracking, and listening to native stories around a campfire at night.

Note: The order of activities may vary due to weather conditions or the guides’ decisions to ensure the best experience and safety.

Learn how to make a jungle camp

Amazonas Department - On the morning of day three, after breakfast, you’ll have the chance to learn more about making handicrafts or other survival techniques. In the afternoon, after lunch, you’ll venture into the jungle to find a campsite. With the guides’ help, you’ll prepare the area and return in the evening after dinner to sleep in a different location than the base camp.

Note: The order of activities may vary due to weather conditions or the guides’ decisions to ensure the best experience and safety.

Last walk in search of wildlife

Amazonas Department - Early on the fourth day, after breakfast, you’ll take a walk to explore other areas of the jungle in search of wildlife, aiming to increase the chances of spotting wild animals. This walk lasts about two to three hours. After lunch, you’ll begin the two-hour walk back to the road, where a van will be waiting to take you back to Leticia around 4:00 pm.
