Highlights

Arusha to Lake Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, you will meet with an office representative for a safari briefing before driving 2 hours to Tarangire National Park.

Along the route, you’ll see breathtaking views of grassland plains dotted with ancient baobab trees, traditional Maasai huts, and livestock herded by nomadic people.

Tarangire National Park is notable for its old baobab trees, tree climbing pythons, and the biggest concentration of African elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

Following a midday picnic lunch, you will resume your afternoon game drive before driving to Migombani Campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - Following an early breakfast we’ll drive from Migombani Campsite to Serengeti National Park.

This route will take you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, allowing you to see the Ngorongoro Crater along the way (a breath-taking view indeed).

Also, expect to encounter plenty of wildlife during this drive as there is sometimes a significant concentration of game on the southern plains.

You see, the Serengeti is home to more than just huge creatures. Over 500 different bird species have been identified, from the enormous ostrich and strange secretary bird of the open grassland to the black eagles that swoop gracefully over the savannah. That’s what makes this wildlife “sanctuary” magical.

On the journey, you will stop for a picnic lunch before continuing on with your journey and arriving to Nyani Campsite in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro Crater - Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a breathtaking natural wonder in northern Tanzania, renowned for its iconic Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. This vast protected area encompasses a diverse landscape of highlands, savannas, forests, and volcanic plains, teeming with an abundance of wildlife. The crater itself is a sanctuary for a remarkable concentration of animals, including the Big Five: buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, and rhino.

Beyond the crater, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area extends across the Serengeti plains, where millions of wildebeest and zebras embark on their annual migration. The area is also home to the semi-nomadic Maasai people, who coexist harmoniously with the wildlife, adding a rich cultural dimension to the region’s allure.

Serengeti Full Day

Serengeti National Park - We hope you’re excited for today! We’ll be in the park all day long.

At dawn, after a light breakfast, we’ll set out and begin our journey. We will go on a full-day wildlife drive to explore the Serengeti’s stunning surroundings and look for the Big 5. After the spectacular morning game drive, we’ll go back to the campsite for a cooked lunch before leaving for yet another breathtaking late afternoon game drive.

The Serengeti is home to more than just huge creatures. Over 500 different bird species have been identified, from the enormous ostrich and strange secretary bird of the open grassland to the black eagles that swoop gracefully over the savannah. That’s what makes this wildlife “sanctuary” magical.

That being said, we’ll keep on looking for wildlife in the Serengeti, then head back to camp for some delicious dinner and a rustic night’s rest after a day well spent!

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - This will be our last day in the Serengeti. We’ll say goodbye to the park in style!

Following breakfast, we’ll go with a packed lunch for an early morning game drive that will last for 6 hours. You’ll get to experience what The Serengeti is famous for (stunning beauty, diverse landscapes and amazing wildlife) for one last time.

Then after we are done with lunch, we’ll head to our campsite, grab our things and then drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We’ll be stopping along the way to view for more wildlife viewing.

We’ll then stay at Simba campsite at the rim of the crater for the night.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - Following an early breakfast, we’ll descend 600 meters into the crater for our last wildlife viewing.

This stunning place will offer you almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa, including the rare black rhino(we’ll be the luckiest travelers if we spot one).

Lunch will then be served at the crater’s base about lunchtime near a hippo lake and after that, take our last photos in the park and head back to Arusha.

Wonderful safari - Deo Robert and Frank always work very professionally and we always felt very cared for. We had wonderful and unforgettable days together. Our eight-day trip started in Arusha. We were picked up from Arusha Airport and drove to the hotel in the city where we stayed for two nights, with a day trip to the waterfall combined with a coffee story in Materuni. We continued on our 6 day safari. Frank showed us an infinite number of great places. He was very knowledgeable. And we saw so much and could watch the animals in peace. Frank enriched the whole thing with a lot of information about the animals. We felt very safe with him. Deo took care of everything organizationally very conscientiously and the payment was easy and fast online. I will always choose the Goldfinch Safari Tour and can recommend it to anyone who wants to have a unique experience

Excellent Safari, amazing experience! - It was a great tour. The first day we visited the Materuni waterfall and learned a lot about Coffee production. The second day we spend at Tarangire National Park and saw many zebras and elephants. We took a rest at Osupuko Lodge with very nice rooms, pool and a magnificent view over the Park. The next three days we visited the Serengeti Park and saw an uncountable number of animals, included lions, leopards and gepards. We slept at the luxury Into-Wild Africa tented lodge. At the Ngorongoro crater we saw a rhino, which is a very rare occasion. We will never forget our last night at the marvelous MaweMawe Manyara Lodge.
