Trip of a lifetime with Colours Africa - My husband and I traveled from the US to Africa for an African safari vacation in June 2024 and used Colours of Africa -- and it wound up being the trip of a lifetime. They customized our entire trip to suit what we wanted to do on our vacation which was amazing. After the long journey from North Carolina to Tanzania we were exhausted and Colours of Africa showed up right at the airport to whisk us away. They handled EVERY single component of our trip, with drivers taking us to and from airports and amazing tour guides. We chose to do the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Zanzibar and did the luxury hotel package (Melias and Four Seasons). Our tour guide in the Serengeti (Kindu) was absolutely amazing. We were on a private tour bus the entire trip just the two of us vs. if you book with the hotels directly who have 15-20 people on full safari trucks the same size. The amazing thing about this is we could tell Kindu what we wanted to see and he would take us to those animals. We saw all of the big 5. He was so kind and fun to tour with always early waiting for us. He's been a tour guide for a long time unlike a lot of the younger drivers in the Serengeti and clearly knew exactly where to go to find the animals. We were also always parked front and center a stones throw away from the animals so had the BEST viewing point. He was a 10 out of 10 driver - highly recommend! The Serengeti was truly magical and one of the neatest places we've ever seen and my hubby and I have traveled internationally a ton (Maldivees, Qatar, Hawaii, Turks, Australia, etc.) Definitey the highlight of our trip! We saw a cheetah kill on our last day and plenty of lions, hippos, wildebeests and zebras. The Ngorongoro Crater was a bit of a hike in the vehicle (I believe it was a four hour ride?) but truly amazing to see how the Masai tribes live on the journey. The Grand Melia was the most beautiful hotel we've ever seen - note they do not have air conditioning. It was fine, though, as we got in later in the day, and it's chilly at night. Take lots of pics if you stay there as you'll want those amazing memories from those hotel views into the crater. If we skipped any of the trip it probably would've been Zanzibar. You can't use the beaches at all as the hotel's beach is public and its completely full of locals hounding you the entire time. You can't sit on a towel ever for 10 seconds because they won't go away. We opted for this third leg of the trip as we wanted some beach relaxation at the end, but I prob would've chosen a different last leg. Prob not another safari as we saw enough animals in the first two stops and were ready for a relaxing way to end the trip... A few minor hiccops we had, which is common on long journeys, was our luggage was lost by the airline when we arrived on day 1. Our tour guide instantly pivoted and took us to local shops to buy some clothes and socks and whatever we needed to make it through the first day. Colours of Africa picked up our luggage the next day and brought it to the airstrip in the Serengeti so we had clothes the next morning without batting an eye. When we checked out of our Zanzibar hotel the hotel tried to charge us for food even though we bought an all-inclusive package and Colours instantly took care of that too an the hotel wiped away the charges for them even though they wouldn't for us. That hotel also gave us a lower level room than we booked and same Colours instantly called and got our room changed and upgraded when we called and let them know - they went above an beyond for EVERYTHING!!!!! They were completely on it and made it the trip of a lifetime. Tips for anyone taking this trip: Definitely pack two days of clothes in your carry-on in case your luggage is lost like ours was. You need a good bug spray as the testes flies are bad. Go for a luxury hotel if you can afford it as it will make a difference in your trip! I would recommend Colours of Africa to anyone traveling on a safari trip - they are truly 10 out of 10, legit, honest, kind, hardworking people! They will go above and beyond to meet every ask that you have. Thank you for an AMAZING trip Colours Africa! We hope to come back again with our kids one day!

Highly Recommend - We did a 5 day safari with Colours and it was our first one ever. We didn’t know what to expect but the booking process was easy and Justin was able to answer all our questions and guide us. He was always polite and instilled trust in us. Our guide, DENNIS, WAS AMAZING! He was so knowledgeable of the animals and the roads. We always felt safe and had so much fun. He was always making sure we were feeling. We got to see almost all of the animals we wanted to see but even if we hadn’t, we would do it again just for Dennis. One thing I would change is that we didn’t know how long the distances between parks were and we ended up spending the entire day, every day in the car. We had chosen nice accomodations (out of the options Colours gave us) thinking we would have more time to chill there. We expected to arrive at our lodges around 5pm everyday but ended up arriving at 7pm every night and then leaving at 7:30am every morning, so there really was not down time. I suggested for Colours to include travel times between parks in the itinerary for the future so that guests can plan better. The next time we would do it a bit more leisurely instead of so busy. I should note that on the day we arrived to Arusha, our driver picked us up and took us to the office for us to check in with Colours. The office is located in a pretty sketchy place and it’s not very nice. I hope in the future they can change offices or just do the guest’s check in at their hotel instead of taking them to the office. Overall, I would highly recommend Colours, just make sure you explain what your expectations and preferences are when booking/choosing the package.

Unforgettable experience - Our 5-day safari in Tanzania was an unforgettable adventure, all thanks to our guide, Kindu. Every aspect of the safari, from accommodations to meals and schedules, was perfectly organized. Kindu was not only exceptionally punctual, but also incredibly flexible and accommodating. His wealth of knowledge about the country, culture, and wildlife added a fascinating layer to our journey. Despite being in the early stages of learning Spanish, we had great conversations in english with Kindu. Although we know he can also speak chinese. The spacious and clean vehicle, along with the well-maintained tools for any potential issues, provided a sense of security throughout the trip. Kindu's dedication to finding the specific animals we wanted to see was remarkable, and while we unfortunately missed the leopard, spotting the rhinoceros on the last day was an unforgettable highlight.

excellent tour - This time, we participated in the 8-day tour planned by colours Africa Tours (20240330-20240407). The itinerary included Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater. During the trip, we were divided into two tour guides, a short-distance tour guide (Wofon) and a long-distance tour guide (Kindu). Both of them were excellent, and the chef Su-i was in charge of our entire trip. Special praise should be given to the long-distance tour guide (Kindu). He can speak some Chinese, so the communication with us is smoother. He also has a friendly Chinese name, Xiaolong. Xiaolong is a very cheerful tour guide, talkative but not verbose. He has a pair of sharp eagle eyes when looking for animals. Every morning when we start the safari, he will first ask us what animals we want to see today, and then quickly lead us to observe them one by one during the trip. Our companions jokingly call him Eagle Eyes 4.0, who can see through all disguises. Whether it is a leopard hiding in a tree, a lion passing under a tree, or even a rare crocodile and cheetah, it gives us a good travel experience. And he is also a good driver. During the jeep safari, it happened to be the rainy season, and we encountered other cars stuck in mud on the road. We never delayed our speed because of the road conditions, and even rescued some vehicles in trouble on the road. It was amazing. The chef Su-i (Su Yi) who was in charge of our diet was also an indispensable person in the trip. First of all, there were two vegetarians (lacto-ovo vegetarians) in our group. Even though we had some dietary restrictions, Su Yi's cooking skills were not affected at all. He was also very considerate to communicate with us about Asian preferences. He was also very talkative, like a father who was afraid that you would not be full. He ate very much every day. Because we were worried about not being used to the food before departure, but in fact we were looking forward to some magic at every meal. We even had pizza, lasagna, and even banana cake and popcorn on the grassland. We have a perfect team, the food is very good, the animals are very enjoyable to watch, and the accommodation is also well arranged. We would also like to thank Nasra, who was very attentive during the contact process. She never tires of answering our questions, and gave us good suggestions and soothed our nervousness. She was also very considerate and took us to experience the black hair braiding experience, which made our trip a perfect experience. We recently embarked on an 8-day journey(2024 Ester vacation) organized by Colours Africa Tours. The itinerary included visits to Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater. Throughout the trip, we were accompanied by two guides, Wofon for the shorter distances and Kindu for the longer stretches, both of whom were excellent. Additionally, our chef Su-i took care of our culinary needs throughout the journey. I must commend Kindu, our long-distance guide, His ability to speak some Chinese made us feel very connected and comfortable. He even adopted a nickname Chinese name, Xiaolong(小龍)reason from a super actor Bruce Lee. Xiaolong was a cheerful guide, engaging but not verbose. With his eagle eye, he could spot animals from afar. Each morning before our game safari, he would inquire about our preferences for animal sightings and efficiently lead us to observe them, earning the nickname "Eagle Eye 4.0" among our group for his ability to see through disguises. Whether it was a leopard hiding in a tree, lions passing beneath it, or rare sightings like crocodiles and cheetahs, he provided us with exceptional wildlife experiences. Moreover, he was a skilled driver, navigating through muddy terrain during the rainy season without ever slowing our pace. In fact, he even assisted other vehicles in need along the way, showcasing his impressive capabilities. Su-i, our chef, was indispensable during our journey. Despite having two vegetarians in our group (lacto-vegetaria n& ovo-vegetarian), Su-i's cooking skills remained affected. He was very eager to communicate and fulfill our requests, going above and beyond to deliver exceptional service, also catering to our Asian tastes with great conversation and portions that left us fully satisfied each day. We were initially worried about adjusting to the food, but every meal turned into a delightful surprise, from enjoying vegetarian pizza and lasagne on the savannah to treats like banana cake and popcorn. Especially, Su-i provide us with fresh bread and pancake every morning all hand made. With a perfect team, delicious food, captivating wildlife sightings, and excellent accommodations, our experience was truly exceptional. Special thanks also go to Nasra for her attentive communication, always patiently addressing our questions and offering helpful suggestions to ease our nerves. She even arranged for us to experience braiding with African hair, adding another memorable aspect to our journey.

Great experience... - Tanzania is seriously set up for tourists, especially around the Serengeti and Ngorongoro areas. I chatted with a bunch of companies and heard from lots of folks who've done safaris with a variety of groups. It seems like as long as you pick a company that's legit and has decent reviews, you're pretty much guaranteed a great safari experience with most of them. What sets Colours apart, however, is their ability to offer safaris that are not only budget-friendly but also venture into less frequented destinations, like Gombe National Park—an absolutely stellar recommendation and a definite highlight of our East African trip. The team's flexibility with scheduling and their insightful suggestions greatly enhanced our experience. For instance, when we considered additional days at Lake Manyara National Park, they advised us to explore the southern Serengeti instead. This turned out to be excellent advice, allowing us to witness the spectacular great wildebeest migration—a truly unforgettable spectacle. In a nutshell, not only is this company super competent and trustworthy, but they were also incredibly helpful in planning our trip. This was a godsend for us first-timers in Tanzania. Totally recommend them

From the airport pick-up, to the safari and then airport drop-off, everything worked super well and seamlessly! Patience was the best guide and because of him, the safari was an experience we will never forget. He shared with us a lot of history, culture and animals we saw and thanks to him we go home having seen the big five and made memories and experiences we will never forget. His kindness and upbeat energy always made the days in the safari fun! The entire organization worked very well and we never had to worry about anything. The lodges were incredible and so were the game drives! Lunch was always very good as well. We go home with incredible memories and experiences! We can only recommend your company and having Patience as a guide - 5/5 stars! ⭐️

A unique experience in the vastness of the Serengeti - We chose Colours because they met our budget, were very flexible with all our requests and always responded quickly, and also offered delicious, reusable food. And we were not disappointed! We had an unforgettable tour with an excellent guide who was discreet but always there for us. The wildlife, especially in the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Great Migration are simply stunning! In February the grass is quite high: great for big cats (which hide in it) but especially great for lush, green landscapes and rich biodiversity! The choice of accommodation was really good. We can really recommend the tour with Colours Africa without reservation!

Life time experience! - We went for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed !! We enjoyed every moment! We got to see everything and more, all the animals you could imagine! Drivers (Macha, Sadhi and Frederic) were very nice, and we were impressed by there knowledge of the parks and their inhabitants. The cook, Augustin, did wonders also !! We spend 2 nights in campsites, real wild experience : rudimentary but so worth it!! Being in the savannah, sleeping to the sounds of roars, visited by buffalos, elephants and hyenas!! The logde we stayed at for the last 2 nights was also very nice , very welcomed deep in the pool, lovely staff and great food ! Godfather has been very nice to us, explaining every step before the adventure begins and taking time to meet after the journey to collect our impression while taking us to the airport. Overall a great experience we highly recommend Colors of Africa

World class service end-to-end! - Colour Africa delivered world class service from start to finish. Before travel: As a foreigner, it is easy to be overwhelmed by amount of operators and options, but Nasra, their customer service representative answered my 50+ WhatsApp messages at all times of the day. Tailoring an optimal itinerary at a very competitive price! During: our guide, Benjamin, was an absolute rockstar from start to finish. Keep in mind that most operators go to same reserves and drives same cars, but Benjamin separated himself from the others by: a) being extremely well prepared - we helped 4 cars (!!) with mechanical issues since Benjamin had tools and skills others lacked. B) Benjamin is well liked and respected by other guides - enabling him to get information about the best places to go (we saw 2 leopards up close, rhino crossing road in front of us, etc.etc.). c) Benjamin is respectful, humble, and fun to be around - really augmenting the experience (remember you spend 12+ hours in a car with your guide every day) - we heard many examples of tourists that were annoyed or tired of their guides. After: Benjamin borrowed us a new Camera (!!!) enabling us as unprepared tourists to get amazing photos. He also created a video and sent us all photos at no cost (truly cannot thank him enough!!) If you are considering safari in Tanzania, there is only one operator you should consider!!!

Colours Africa Tours is the BEST! Life-changing experience from true professionals. - Hands down, we had a FIVE STAR experience from start to finish with Colours Africa Tours and Safaris. They truly gave my mother and me the adventure of a lifetime, starting with a warm welcome and briefing, followed by several exciting days of game drives. Our tour guide, Ben, always went the extra mile to carefully spot the wildlife and find the best positions to view and photograph. I spent a lot of time researching safari companies and chose Colours because they had the most professional itinerary presentation, were the most competitive on price, and also bent over backwards to accommodate every special request we had. My recommendation: Look no further than Colours for your private safari/tour of Tanzania!
