Meticulously carved into the rock, these tombs, steeped in history, reflect the grandeur of the New Kingdom era.

Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Journey further into the splendors of Egyptian architecture at the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, an unparalleled masterpiece from the Eighteenth Dynasty. Nestled opposite Luxor, this temple pays homage to Pharaoh Hatshepsut and showcases the ingenuity of ancient builders. Immerse yourself in the allure of this sacred site that stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Egypt.

Colossi of Memnon - Witness the awe-inspiring Colossi of Memnon, monumental stone statues guarding the entrance of the Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III. These colossal figures, dedicated to Pharaoh Amenhotep III, command attention with their imposing presence, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Egyptian artistry.

Temple of Karnak - Step into the sprawling Karnak Temple Complex, commonly known as Karnak, an archaeological marvel near Luxor. This vast expanse boasts a mesmerizing array of decayed temples, pylons, chapels, and other structures, each telling a story of the religious fervor and architectural prowess of ancient Egypt.

Edfu - Historical Exploration

Temple of Horus - Delve into the enchanting history of the Temple of Edfu, an ancient Egyptian marvel situated on the western bank of the Nile in Edfu, Upper Egypt. This sacred site is a testament to the city’s significance during the Hellenistic period, known in Koinē Greek as Ἀπόλλωνος πόλις and in Latin as Apollonopolis Magna. Named after the chief god Horus, who assumed the identity of Apollo in Greek interpretation, the temple stands as a remarkable fusion of Egyptian and Hellenistic influences.

Kom Ombo - Archaeological Marvels

Temple of Kom Ombo - A captivating journey through the remarkable Kom Ombo Temple, an extraordinary double temple nestled in the town of Kom Ombo within the Aswan Governorate of Upper Egypt. Constructed during the Ptolemaic dynasty from 180 to 47 BC, this unique sanctuary stands as a testament to ancient Egyptian ingenuity and religious devotion. The Temple of Kom Ombo boasts a distinctive design, featuring dual entrances, halls, and sanctuaries dedicated to different deities. The left side of the temple honors the falcon-headed god Horus, while the right side venerates the crocodile-headed god Sobek. This dual dedication makes Kom Ombo a rare and intriguing archaeological site, providing insights into the diverse religious practices of the time.

Aswan - Sail to Aswan, embracing the tranquil voyage that weaves a tapestry of history, culture, and natural beauty. This serene journey invites you to uncover the layers of Egypt’s rich past, creating a seamless transition as you continue your exploration of this historically and culturally significant region.

Aswan - Architectural Marvels and Historical Treasures

Aswan High Dam - Discover the monumental achievements of engineering and ancient craftsmanship in Aswan, Egypt, where the colossal Aswan High Dam stands as the world’s largest embankment dam. Constructed between 1960 and 1970, this engineering marvel spans the Nile, replacing the earlier Aswan Low Dam completed in 1902. The Aswan High Dam’s sheer scale and significance have elevated it to global prominence, reshaping the landscape and harnessing the power of the Nile for irrigation and electricity generation.

Unfinished Obelisk - Adjacent to the quarries of ancient Egypt in Aswan lies the site of the Unfinished Obelisk, a testament to the ambitious endeavors of ancient craftsmen. Reginald Engelbach meticulously studied this colossal obelisk in 1922, revealing its status as the largest known ancient obelisk. The Unfinished Obelisk provides a fascinating glimpse into the ancient quarrying techniques and the challenges faced by those who sought to craft monumental structures from the stone quarries of Aswan.

Philae Timple - Philae, an enchanting island situated in the reservoir created by the Aswan Low Dam, captivates visitors with its rich history. Originally located near the First Cataract of the Nile in Upper Egypt, Philae housed a magnificent Egyptian temple complex. Today, the island retains its allure, despite being downstream of the Aswan Dam and Lake Nasser. The relocation of the Philae temple complex was a monumental effort to preserve these historical treasures amid the changing landscape. As you explore the remnants of the Aswan Low Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the relocated Philae temple complex, you are immersed in a narrative that spans millennia. These landmarks tell the tale of human ingenuity, engineering prowess, and the enduring connection between Egypt’s past and present.

We learned so much. A great experience. Thank you Ahmed. - We were so very fortunate to have Ahmed Haggag as our tour guide during our 7 day cruise down the Nile. He was our Egyptologist for Philae Temple, Aswan Dam, Kom Ombu, Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Karnak Temple and the Luxor Temple. As well as sharing his knowledge at the temples, he often came back to the boat to answer our questions and tell us a little of the history of Egypt. As well as being an excellent tour guide he took very good care of us by taking us to a variety of shops when we told him we were interested in buying a certain product (Egyptian cotton, a silver cartouche). He knows the best places which offer fair prices. He was very protective of us wanting us to have the best experience in Egypt. Most importantly, he was just a lot of fun and had a good sense of humour. We had many laughs together. We would recommend Ahmed to other tourists looking for a knowledgeable Egyptologist.
