Highlights

: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park - At 7:00am, our guide will pick you up from Kampala to start your journey to the renowned Queen Elizabeth National Park. Spanning approximately 1978 km², the park offers a stunning view of the rift valley floor that encompasses Lake Edward and George. Known for its high biodiversity, the park is home to around 95 mammal species and 612 bird species. NB: On your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will stop at the equator in Masaka town. Here, two cement circles mark the equator line, making it a great spot for a photo if you’re traveling to Masaka or Kampala. You can also watch a demonstration by local entrepreneurs showing how water swirls in opposite directions in the northern and southern hemispheres at the equator line. The equator stop is also great for shopping, with several craft shops and art galleries selling souvenirs and handmade products, some marked with equator-related themes. You might even buy a T-shirt that says ‘I crossed the Uganda Equator.’

Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat To Kazinga Channel

Queen Elizabeth National Park - After an early breakfast, your driver will take you on a morning game drive to catch the early risers. This is a fantastic opportunity to spot various wild animals such as Tree Climbing lions, Buffaloes, Uganda kob (the national antelope), Elephants, Hippos, Lions, Leopards, waterbucks, warthogs, and many others. After this exhilarating drive, you’ll return to your lodge to relax. Following lunch, you’ll embark on an incredible launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel, one of the highlights of your tour. Tourists often enjoy spotting wildlife like Buffaloes, large herds of Elephants, numerous beautiful birds, and stunning scenery. This boat ride offers an excellent platform for photography and game viewing. After the cruise, you’ll head back to the hotel for dinner.

Have a Relaxed Morning & Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After a relaxed breakfast, you’ll set off for Buhoma, near the famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Known for its rare mountain gorillas, the drive to the park is incredibly scenic, passing through local villages and the lush green countryside and hills of southwestern Uganda. Once in the forest park for your Gorilla Tracking trip, you’ll find one of Africa’s richest ecosystems, home to around 120 mammal species, 348 bird species, 220 butterfly species, 27 frog species, chameleons, geckos, and many endangered species. Bwindi is also one of East Africa’s most diverse forests, with over 1,000 flowering plant species, including 163 tree species and 104 fern species. The journey takes about 4 hours.

Gorilla Tracking

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, with your packed lunch, you’ll report to the park premises for registration by 8:00am and receive a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides. You’ll then trek through the dense bushes in search of the amazing Gorillas. There’s also a good chance of seeing other species like birds, monkeys, chimpanzees, and beautiful butterflies. The trek can take 1-8 hours, depending on the day’s luck. Encountering these fascinating creatures is an exciting experience, watching them interact and play. The time allowed with the gorillas is 1 hour, and every minute is worth the effort. After leaving the forest, you can opt for an additional activity like visiting the pygmies or simply relax at the lodge.

Drive Back to Kampala

Kampala - Today marks the end of your trip! After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey back to Kampala, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. You’ll have lunch en route (not included) and make another stop at the equator for the water experiment if you missed it on the first day. Continue the journey, and your driver will drop you off at your accommodation in Kampala. Thank you for choosing Bright Safaris Uganda.
