: Nairobi to Mt Kenya Bandas, an altitude of about 2900m
Mount Kenya National Park - Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to Chogoria, where you’ll stop for lunch. Afterward, take a short drive to the starting point of the bamboo forest. Begin your trek through the dense bamboo forest for approximately 11 km to reach the Mt Kenya Bandas.
Mt Kenya Bandas to Lake Ellis Campsite, an altitude of about 3900m
Mount Kenya National Park - The mountain ascent starts after breakfast and organizing the day’s necessities. This is an easy trek featuring beautiful scenery and landscapes, leading to the Lake Ellis Campsite for an overnight stay at around 3600m. Enjoy a lunch break by a stream crossing, with views of the moorland and stunning sights of Mugi, Inthanguni, and Giant Billards.
Lake Ellis – to Minto`s Camp, an altitude of about 4200m
Mount Kenya National Park - The third day’s adventure begins after breakfast, aiming to connect to the standard tourist trail on the Chogoria route at approximately 4100m. This trek takes about 3 hours up a mountain ridge. Take a lunch break at a small stream crossing, surrounded by panoramic views of the gorges and valleys of northern Moorland. After lunch, a short hike of about an hour leads to the Mintos huts area for an overnight stay at around 4200m. Plan to rest early for an early summit attempt the next day.
: Mintos Camp to Liki North Camp via Point Lenana, about 5000m above sea level
Mount Kenya National Park - The summit attempt begins before dawn, around 3 am, taking about 4 hours to reach the top in time for a beautiful sunrise. Point Lenana, at 4985m, is the hikers’ summit. After sunrise, begin a gradual descent to Shipton camp for breakfast. This is followed by a slow, celebratory trek to Liki North camp, which is about 3900m above sea level. This trek is filled with stunning scenery.
Liki North to Nairobi
Nairobi - After breakfast, embark on a 3-hour descent trek from Liki North to Old Moses camp to catch transport back to Nairobi.
