Arrival & Karnak and Luxor Temples

Temple of Karnak - Your experienced Egyptologist guide will greet you at your hotel, railway station, or airport in Luxor and lead you on a journey to explore the enchanting Karnak Temples. Dedicated to the deities Amun and his wife Mut, these temples hold historical significance as the site where the earliest known international peace treaty was established, a fact preserved on a wall within the Temple of Amun at Karnak.

Luxor Temple - Embark on a journey to explore the awe-inspiring Luxor Temple, constructed by Amunhotep III during the 18th Dynasty B.C. This grand structure was later completed by Ramesses II in the 19th Dynasty B.C. Ramesses II, renowned as the most illustrious ruler of the era, governed Egypt for numerous years. The temple was dedicated to the esteemed deities Amun-Ra, his consort Mut, and their son Khonsu, symbolizing the Theban triad. Take pleasure in beholding the magnificent Obelisk of Ramses II positioned in front of the 1st Pylon. Following your enriching visit, you will be escorted to embark on your Nile Cruise adventure.

Valley of Kings, Hatchepsut Temple & Colossi of Memnon

Valley of the Kings - Once you’ve finished your breakfast aboard, your guide will be ready to accompany you on a tour to the West Bank, where the renowned Valley of the Kings resides. Venture through this historic valley and delve into the tombs of notable figures such as King Tutankhamun, Ramssess VI, King Tutmosis, and Amonhotep II. Alongside them, numerous other kings rest in this valley. Join us as we unravel the hidden tales of the Royal Tombs, immersing ourselves in a world of mystery and treasure.

Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Let’s proceed to the awe-inspiring Temple of Queen Hatchepsut, also recognized as El Deir El Bahari. Queen Hatchepsut holds the distinction of being the first female Pharaoh to govern Egypt and inaugurate its initial trading routes.

Colossi of Memnon - Moving on to the Colossi of Memnon, situated overlooking the Nile. These colossal statues depict Amenhotep III. Legend has it that a powerful earthquake shattered the northern colossus, and following this event, the lower half of the statue was said to emit a mysterious singing sound, consistently occurring within one to two hours after sunrise. Now, let’s return our focus to your cruise, which will continue its journey towards Edfu.

Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples

Temple of Horus - Following your breakfast onboard, your guide will accompany you to explore the Horus Temple. Situated in Edfu, this ancient Egyptian temple contains significant depictions and inscriptions depicting the Sacred Drama centered around the conflict between Horus and Seth.

Temple of Kom Ombo - Cruise towards the Kom Ombo Temple, a sacred site dedicated to the dual deities Sobek and Horus. Sobek, revered as the Crocodile God, symbolizes the Nile, military prowess, and fertility, while Horus represents the realms of sky and kingship. After immersing yourself in the wonders of the temple, return to your cruise ship and continue your journey towards Aswan.

High Dam & Unfinished Obelisk & Philae Temple

Aswan High Dam - Following breakfast aboard, our Egyptologist guide will rendezvous with you to escort you on a visit to the renowned High Dam, which regulates all of Egypt’s water supply. Remarkably, the dam boasts a storage capacity of three years’ worth of Nile water.

Unfinished Obelisk - Next, let’s explore the remarkable Unfinished Obelisk. Originally weighing 1,168 tons, had it been completed, its final weight would have been 1,200 tons. It’s fascinating to note that numerous casing stones used in the construction of the two pyramids at Giza were sourced from the Quarry in Aswan, where the Unfinished Obelisk resides.

Temple of Philae - Continue your excursion to explore the captivating Philae Temple, a sacred sanctuary constructed by the ancient Egyptians in honor of the Goddess Isis, embodying attributes of Health, Marriage, and Wisdom. Afterwards, return to your cruise for the next leg of your journey.

Best way to do a first trip in Egypt - We organized a private tour trip with Sarah, with some days in a Nile Cruise with Spanish guide between Luxor and Aswan, a few days in Cairo and one night on the White Desert. I can only recommend this kind of customized trip organization, adjusted to our plans and wishes and with extra suport and readjustments when necessary. Sarah did a great job when choosing activities and accomodations, and also adapting when needed, always oriented to our satisfaction and following up our progress. With her and this kind of trip you won't feel a number in a big unflexible group. Thanks Sarah, we enjoyed a lot !!!
