Banos - Baños de Agua Santa, nestled in the verdant province of Tungurahua, offers an ideal retreat for relaxation and renewal following our high-altitude expedition, celebrated for its natural hot springs. As dusk descends, soak up the lively ambiance of Baños. Dinner is not included, allowing you to relish the diverse culinary offerings the town boasts before retiring to your lodging for a well-deserved rest. Take a moment to reminisce about the unforgettable experiences crafted throughout this remarkable day in the Ecuadorian Andes.

TUNGURAHUA - NAPO AMAZON REGION

La Casa del Arbol - Arguably one of the most renowned treehouses globally, Casa del Árbol hosts the Swing at the End of the World, a simple yet exhilarating playground ride positioned on the edge of a mountain, offering a stunning view of Baños, Ecuador. Here, visitors can grab the ropes and swing out over the cliff’s edge. Despite the rush of adrenaline, it evokes a sense of childhood joy magnified for adults. On clear days, you might even catch a glimpse of the active volcano looming just beyond the town, occasionally emitting smoke as a subtle reminder of its presence. (Continue to the Agoyan Waterfall: 30 minutes).

The Flight of the Condor - Experience “The Hand of Pachamama” at this picturesque viewpoint, where a pair of colossal hands emerges from the depths of the earth, offering visitors a unique vantage point to behold the active Tungurahua Volcano and capture stunning photographs of the volcanoes within Sangay National Park and Llanganates National Park.

Mega Adventure Park Río Blanco.. - Experience the adrenaline rush at Mega Adventure Park Río Blanco, home to Ecuador’s only triple canopy adventure. Traverse a Tibetan bridge and a glass bridge suspended over the Río Blanco River in Tungurahua province, soaring at a height of 170 meters. For thrill-seekers, this challenge is a must. The Triple Canopy, a unique Ecuadorian feature, allows three individuals to share the exhilarating experience, each on their own cable, priced at $10 USD per person. Next, take on the Tibetan bridge with 11 thrilling obstacles, including jumps, runs, and navigating through tires and nets while dangling over the abyss, offering a more intense experience at $15 USD per person. Lastly, conquer the glass bridge, inaugurated in 2021 and the only one of its kind in Ecuador and Latin America. Mirador Mira Mera - Nestled within the province of Pastaza, in the Mera canton, the Miramera viewpoint is conveniently located just 10 minutes before reaching the city of Puyo along the Baños - Tena road, on the right-hand side. Straddling the border between Pastaza and Tungurahua provinces, this viewpoint derives its name from the welcoming Mera Canton, marking your entrance into the Amazon region.

Easily identifiable by a prominent sign reading “PASTAZA” and smaller displays showcasing images of the renowned nest, the viewpoint charges a modest admission fee of $3 per person. The highlight of this destination is undoubtedly El Nido, an impressive recreation of the oropendola bird’s nest, crafted from native vines of the region. Serving as a serene oasis, it offers visitors a tranquil spot to unwind and marvel at the grandeur of the Pastaza River.

Puerto Napo - Puerto Napo, a quaint town close to Tena City, serves as the ideal stop for purchasing essentials like insect repellent or sun protection. (Travel time to Rainforest Lodge: 45 minutes)

Suchipakari Amazon Lodge & Jungle Spa - After breakfast at your lodge, prepare for an adventure through the rainforest. We’ll ready our rubber boats for a journey to the Bajo Pusuno community, situated near the Napo Amazon River.

Rio Pusuno - Jump aboard a canoe for a picturesque journey along the Napo River. Keep your camera ready, as you never know what captivating sights you might spot among the trees or soaring through the sky. Life jackets will be provided for the ride along the Napo and Arajuno Rivers to the Rescue Center.

Amazoonico Animal Rescue Centre - Experience an unparalleled encounter with an ocelot or tapir at AmaZoonico, a rescue sanctuary dedicated to Amazonian animals. Run by volunteer guides, the sanctuary offers insights into the fascinating, sometimes tragic, stories of its residents. From toucans to monkeys transitioning back to life in the wild, and even anacondas striving to reintegrate into nature after being trafficked on the black market, you’ll witness remarkable journeys of adaptation. Your visit to the animal rescue center contributes to the protection of these unique creatures. Afterward, continue your ride to Caiman’s Lagoon. (Duration: 20 minutes)

Ahuano - Experience the captivating artistry of Amazonian women as they shape clay sourced from riverbanks into exquisite vessels at our Pottery Workshop & Village Visit. Witness local communities crafting their tableware using materials from the forest, employing traditional techniques for decoration. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase crafts that capture your attention. Following this enriching experience, we’ll return by motorized canoe to our jungle retreat, where you can indulge in spa treatments and other amenities.

Suchipakari Amazon Lodge & Jungle Spa - Return to the lodge and take some time to relax. After savoring the Special Dinner included, we invite you to join us for a Night Hike in the Jungle. As the forest comes alive with the nocturnal symphony of frogs, you’ll have the chance to observe fascinating creatures such as fishing bats, nocturnal monkeys, owls, snakes, amphibians, tarantulas, toads, alligators, and possibly even snakes. Don’t forget to bring a flashlight for this tour. Additionally, this presents an excellent opportunity to stargaze and marvel at the constellations!

Suchipakari Amazon Lodge & Jungle Spa - Good morning! Let’s kick off our day by indulging in a nutritious breakfast in the style of Suchipakari. Afterward, our guide will lead us on an exploration of the Chocolate Route.

Playa de los Monos - A must-visit destination for tourists is the charming town of Misahualli, Ecuador. Nestled at the confluence of the Misahuallí and Napo rivers, Misahualli’s main draw is undoubtedly its resident monkeys. These playful creatures can often be spotted wandering along the beach and exploring the park located at the town’s center.

Laguna Kawana Reserva - Embark on a canoe ride on Kawana Lagoon, located within the Huaorani Tribe territory, and explore a diverse array of plants and animals across two distinct landscapes and ecosystems.

Tena - Located near Tena city, the Jumandy Caves are a fascinating tourist complex featuring petroglyph inscriptions from the ancient Quijos civilization. Jumandy, which means ‘wise man’, was a chief honored as a national hero in 2011 for his resistance against Spanish rule. A guided 1-hour tour inside the caves showcases underground water currents and stunning stalactites/stalagmites. Admission is $7 USD per person, and waterproof footwear is required. (Continue the journey to Papallacta: 120 min) Please note that lunch is not included.

Termas de Papallacta - “All good things must come to an end,” they say… So, our final stop to rejuvenate our minds and bodies after all the activities we’ve enjoyed will be at Papallacta Hot Springs.
