TOUR - ISTANBUL OLD CITY

Topkapi Palace - We explore this magnificent palace, which served as the center and residence of the sultans for approximately 380 years, guided by our Spanish-speaking guide.

Fountain of Ahmet III - Before entering Topkapi Palace through the main gate, you can see the Fountain of Ahmed III, built in 1728. Sultan Ahmed III, a poet, calligrapher, and musician who supported the arts, designed the fountain himself. Our guide provides information before we continue our tour.

Hagia Sophia Mosque - The grand Church of Hagia Sophia (Divine Wisdom) is one of the most renowned and visited landmarks on the Historical Peninsula. Known for its stunning mosaics and massive dome, it is located on Sultanahmet Square, near Topkapi Palace, the Hippodrome, and the Blue Mosque. We visit with insights from our Spanish-speaking guide.

Blue Mosque - Known as the Blue Mosque due to its blue tiles, this monument is one of Istanbul’s most significant landmarks. We explore it with explanations from our Spanish-speaking guide.

Hippodrome - The Hippodrome, a site of numerous sporting events, dates back to 203 AD during Emperor Septimius Severus’s reign. Expanded by Constantine the Great, it reached dimensions of 480 by 118 meters. Today, you can see remnants from its peak days. We visit these with our Spanish-speaking guide.

German Fountain - This fountain was a gift from German Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm to Sultan Abdulhamit during his 1898 visit to Istanbul. Inside the dome are mosaic monograms of both leaders.

Obelisk of Theodosius - The granite obelisk in the Hippodrome dates back to 1450 BC, built in memory of Thutmose and originally erected in Thebes, Egypt. It was brought to Istanbul in 390 AD by Emperor Theodosius.

Serpent Column - This column, featuring three intertwined snakes, commemorates the Greek victory over the Persians in 478 BC. Originally placed in front of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, it is said to have been made from melted Persian shields.

Column of Constantine - Believed to have been erected by Constantine, this column was once covered in bronze, which was looted during the Fourth Crusade.

Grand Bazaar - Known as the world’s largest and oldest shopping center, the Grand Bazaar spans 45,000 square meters and houses 3,600 stores. It was the economic heart during the Ottoman era and remains a top shopping destination in Istanbul, attracting up to 500,000 visitors daily. After receiving information from our Spanish-speaking guide, you will have free time to explore.
