- Giza Plateau - Begins at 8:00 am with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by an Emo Tours guide to start your full-day tour of Giza. Visit the Giza Pyramids, including the Great Pyramids of Giza - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Then, visit the Valley Temple, where priests mummified the body of King Chephren, the owner of the second pyramid at Giza Plateau. Here, you can also get a close-up view of the Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren, standing by the massive funeral complex.
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only completely preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch-high ivory figurine found in a temple ruin at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Everything known about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For instance, Khufu is the main character noted in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre, some found in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860, and others during successive excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
- Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once contained several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.
- Great Sphinx - Conclude your tour with a visit to the Valley Temple, where priests mummified the body of King Chephren. Here, you can get a close-up view of the Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren. It’s also a great spot for taking fun photos with the Sphinx, with the help of your guide.

It is the smallest Old Kingdom pyramid but significant for the discovery of Pyramid Texts, spells for the king’s afterlife inscribed on the walls of its subterranean chambers. This tradition of funerary texts began with Unas’s pyramid and continued in the pyramids of subsequent rulers, through the end of the Old Kingdom and into the Middle Kingdom with the Coffin Texts that form the basis of the Book of the Dead.

You will visit the museum and have a close look at the colossal statue of King Ramses II and the huge alabaster sphinx.
Then move on to Saqqara to visit the Step Pyramid of King Zoser (about 2700 B.C.), which is considered an intermediate stage of evolution between the mastaba and the true pyramid. In the area of Saqqara you will also visit the tomb of Kagemni, a nobleman (2200 B.C.)., the causeway of Unas and the pyramid of teti.
