Amazing, Amazing, AMAZING!!!! - I wish I could give this tour 10 stars!! Spyros was nothing short of amazing. The cost of the trip was very affordable, but after going, I would have paid double for the experience. Spyros was our private driver for the entire tour. He was knowledgeable about all of the locations and gave us a complete historical run down prior to going to every museum, archeological site, monastery, etc…. We stayed in a four star hotel every night and looked forward to a traditional Greek breakfast at every stop. Spyros was prompt every morning and made sure to point out all the important locations and local restaurants we should try. If we are ever able to make it back, Spyros WILL be our guide. Ask for him by name and you will not be disappointed!!!

Must do, must see, must experience :-) - Our archeological tour of mainland Greece was amazing. Our private tour guide & driver George made it even more enjoyable. He’d tailor our stops to avoid large groups and suggest times to minimise the heat. His knowledge of the sites was vast. We even bumped into 3 other tour guides all named George, believe it or not. Must be a company policy to hire guides & drivers named George - ha ha ha. Our George navigated the best roads too as Greece had a biblical flood just few days earlier and some of the roads were still closed. We just felt at home on this trip and accommodation was great as well. We all gave it 5 stars out of 5 !!!

Fulfilment of tour in Greece - We booked the 7 Day Ancient Greece tour with a private driver. We had an excellent 7 days and the driver, Spiros was very reliable, always being on time. He was courteous and exemplary in safety matters when driving. Whenever we were visiting sites, he would ensure the car and our personal affects were safe. We had no concerns throughout the tour regarding our belongings or personal safety. We were in Meteora on the Orthodox Good Friday. The monastery opened later than usual, which in turn caused a problem with meeting the guide for the Vergina visit. Spiros stepped in and rearranged with the guide so as to not shorten the monastery visit, which was one of our "must-see". Spiros has an amicable nature which serves to make the long daily journeys pass easily and communications with local inhabitants effectively. He provided excellent suggestions as where to dine at nearly all the stopping points, and was on friendly terms with the patrons of the various establishments. He has a genuine interest in ensuring that his customers achieve their objective to enjoy their visit to Greece. In terms of the itinerary, as we have chosen Ancient Greece tour, we were visiting Ancient Ruins most of the time. We had a guide for Mycenae, Epidaudus, Delphi, Vergina, Thessaloniki and Pella. We regretted not booking a tour guide for Olympia. We highly recommend booking tour guides for all the sites, as the guides' explanations enhanced the visits. In terms of the itinerary, we consider the visit to Sparta was disappointing, and frankly a waste of time due to the poor state of the ruins, and subject matter. Additionally the driving time to Naousa and Aristotle's school was underwhelming. However, the other 95% of the itinerary are great sites to visit and see. Note that as there were only 2 of us, we were driven in a small car which fit us and our luggage well. It was fit for purpose for our journey. We were both average built. If you are tall and of a larger built, you may want to make it clear to the company for a bigger car.

It was George who provided the actual amazing companionship. His expert advise , history, mythology, local experience, review of eating places, humour, lively discussions, trivia etc etc. kept us entertained all through the time from collecting us and leaving us back at the airport. He is a very safe and helpful driver as well. Thank you both Nikos and George.

Excellent 7-Day Tour of Mainland Greece - My husband, my sister, and myself recently returned from an outstanding trip to Greece organized by Private Tours Greece. We chose the 7-Day Tour of Ancient Greece because that itinerary covered so much of the Greek mainland. In addition to “standard” places like Mycenae, Olympia, and Delphi, we went to some places that were unknown to us which really blew us away. Vergina comes to mind. Here the unlooted tomb of Philip II of Macedonia, Alexander the Great’s father, was displayed. The impression is that you are inside the burial mound with the tombs and artifacts lighted in darkness. Eerie. We were also unfamiliar with Mystras, which was the final flowering of the Byzantine Empire—and fascinating. All arrangements were easily made through Dimitra, the Sales Manager for Private Tours Greece. She responded rapidly, and she completely answered all our many questions. Her work made the actual trip function seamlessly. We stayed at 4* boutique hotels throughout the country. All were unique and well-located near good restaurants and local sights. Most of the rooms had balconies, which we really enjoyed. It was nice to have a pre-dinner wine while gazing across a verdant valley to the sea in Delphi or admiring the distinctive natural spires in Meteora. Some of the rooms were typically European and, hence, on the small side, but there were also a couple we could have thrown a party in. If you want an Americanized hotel like Holiday Inn, you might be disappointed. We were thrilled with the accommodations, the delicious breakfasts, and the personal attention. Having our own car and driver made traveling easy and allowed us to personalize our day. When we explained our plans to some of our friends, they said, “Private Tour?” and wondered if we had won the lottery. Ironically, the cost of the private tour was on a par with many big bus tours—and boy, was there a difference! Our driver, Yanni, was a delight. He was always on time, good humored, and a font of knowledge. He had much to do with making our trip so enjoyable. Now, I need to point out that a driver is not a guide who can accompany you into a site. This is a different person, and you can arrange with Private Tours Greece to have one waiting for you at various venues. We only arranged for one and self-guided for the rest of the time. We found this worked well for us since all the needed information was available in English. All in all, this was an amazing vacation. The 5-star rating is no exaggeration.

A beautiful expericence in Greece - The 7 day tour in Ancient Greece, Mycenae, Delphi, Meteora, Vergina, Thessaloniki was really an amazing and splendid holliday and above our expectations. We were 2 couples, friends who are always travelling together. To make this tour with a private driver is unique and pur luxury. This program gives a good impression of the antique Greece and it's most important cities. The arrangement that was made by Private Tours Greece was 'impeccable' (from the pick-up at the airport, the 4* hotels, the nice van, the planning of the visits, free time , the suggestions for restaurants, ....). A special acknowledgment to our driver, Alex, for his professionalism, his knowledge and courteously, his dedication, and his humor. It were enjoyable days together. We can highly recommend this tour and Private Tours Greece. If you want to learn and to see the Ancient Greece do not hesitate to contact this firm. The communication before the trip by mail, even by whatsapp, was gorgeous. Thanks and good luck to Private Tours Greece and Alex.

A great experience touring historic Greece - We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and fortunately, Greece had just opened to int’l tourists. We booked the airline and hotels in Athens (grande Bretagne) and Santorini (Canaves Oia), and with only two weeks left to plan tours and travel within the country, we contacted PTG and were organized promptly for a vacation just as we wanted it. It included private airport pick ups, city/island tours, driver, museum and local guides, domestic transportation, transfers, additional accommodations, and a half day cruise. Everything went flawlessly, and our few last minute needs/requests were immediately taken care of. Our driver for the mainland tour was Nico, who was professional, courteous and polite at all times and we felt safe enjoying a great driver racing us around the valleys and mountains in a Porsche suv. Iosef’s itinerary took us from quaint places like Naftlio, and Monemvasia to Greece’s remarkable historic past (Akrotiri in Santorini; Corinth, Delphi, Olimpus, Mycene, Mystros, Epidareus, meteora, Thessaloniki, Pella, Vergina, Dion, in mainland). All the professional guides in each historical site were the best and coordinated well by PTG. We highly recommend PTG, and we would use it again in a heartbeat.
