Dambulla Cave Temple - You can visit Dambulla Cave Temple

Sigiriya to Kandy

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Sri Dalada Maligawa (Sinhala: ශ්‍රී දළදා මාළිගාව) or The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex which houses the Relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhalese kings and is a UNESCO world heritage site partly due to the temple. The temple which houses the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha is one of the holiest shrines in the entire Buddhist world.

Kandyan Cultural Centre - Traditional Sri Lankan dancers perform for about an hour. The fire dance is also very interesting. The place is very near to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

Royal Botanical Gardens - Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya, Kandy District, Central Province. Have a nice walk with explanations around the Royal Botanic Garden.

Ramboda Waterfall - We can stop to see the waterfall.

Blue Field Tea Factory - Blue Field Tea Gardens is such an interesting place. You learn all about the picking of tea leaves and all the machinery involved in sorting the tea. Then, you get to taste the tea.

Gregory Lake - It is a great place to visit. Many water activities. Very clean atmosphere. Nice landscaping. You can really enjoy the boat trips or just relax by the side of the lake.

Sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya

Ambewela Farms - A farm with picturesque views of green fields dotted with black and white cows and a foggy mountainous backdrop. It felt like we were in New Zealand.

Bomburu Ella Waterfall - The waterfalls roar naturally amidst the forest and surroundings. It is a very popular spot for tourists. Dress warmly and carry an umbrella in case you are blessed with light rain as we were during this expedition.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella by Train

Nine Arches Bridge - The bridge was built by the British in the late 1800s - a magnificent accomplishment. It is still used, so look out for the trains coming from tunnels at each end. Good views up and down the lush jungle and the river. Well worth it, especially if you are interested in railway history.

Little Adam’s Peak View Point - We highly recommend you watch the sunrise or sunset at this location. A very close walk from the main Ella street. And close to the Nine Arch Bridge walk as well.

Ella to (you can choose your destination: Mirissa, Galle, Hikkaduwa)

Mirissa Beach - Mirissa is one of the main beach destinations in southern Sri Lanka. The area has it all: beautiful beaches, surf waves, whale watching, and great bars and restaurants. Mirissa is developing quickly over the last couple of years so it’s also getting more crowded. There are still enough spots where you can enjoy a fresh coconut from your hammock while watching the sunset.

Galle Fort - The history of Galle extends thousands of years to biblical times. In more recent times, it was a prize to be possessed by western traders in search of wealth and glory. Its beautifully preserved colonial Dutch fort with its quaint city with cobblestone streets within is a place time forgot. Close by are magnificent beaches, rainforests, and other attractions. It is definitely a fascinating place to visit.

Unawatuna Beach - Beautiful beach in Sri Lanka.

Hikkaduwa Beach - Excellent for snorkeling and fascinating to watch the turtles and see the fish so close in the clear water. This is one of the best beaches we saw in Sri Lanka. The water is warm and mostly swimmable but caution is advised. The sand is beautiful as is the water color. Heaps of activities and eateries.

Hikkaduwa to Airport

Madu Ganga Biodiversity Area - On this last day, if you like to visit a boat ride, you can go there.

After pandemic we had a great holiday - This was our first time visiting beautiful Sri Lanka and we were fortunate enough to have Sumi as our travel companion. Sumi met us at the airport and apent the next 10 days with us visiting Sigiriya, Poluonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and finally Galle. Sumi is proud of his country and was keen to ensure we sampled as much of its beauty as possible. Sumi showed us wildlife, food, culture, history, religion and of course stunning scenery. He is extremely knowledgable and really cares about the people his culture and his country. We had lots of questions and Sumi was eager to share his knowledge. Our trip was made all the more special beacuse of our lovely guide and friend.

Good service - I just got back from a 8 night trip.to.Sri Lanka and was super.amazed by Mr Thilanka from Holiday Walkers. Of course the tour was good. However what impressed me.most was , --about a week before the tour I thought I need to cancel , I had already paid 100%. Thilanka spoke to the hotel and got me a 100 percent refund !!! . We were so.impressed. However, we then proceeded with the tour as planned and had a magnificent time !

Round tour with chauffeur - We hired Holiday Walkers Srilanaka as the Chauffeur guide for our 9 day trip across Sri Lanka. We had Thilina as our driver. We had already booked all our hotels directly. Thilina turned out to be the best thing on the trip! His patient, respectful, knowledgeable and informative approach really made the trip doubly worth it. He was always there to support / help us while also maintaining a discreet privacy whenever required Holiday Walkers Srilanka also provided us with great certified guides at the larger sight seeing spots. This helped get a deeper understanding of the site/history/culture. We would recommend Holiday Walkers Srilanka and particularly Thilina to anyone who would like a chauffeur guide for their Sri Lanka trip. Highly recommended Holiday Walkers Srilanka.
