- Palatupana - YALA (යාල) National Park is the most visited and second-largest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean. Including the Sri Lankan Elephant, 44 species of mammals reside in Yala National Park, which boasts one of the highest Leopard densities in the world. Many individual Leopards are estimated to roam in Block I. The elephant herd in Yala consists of 100–150 individuals. The Sri Lankan Sloth Bear, Leopard, Elephant, and Wild Water Buffalo are all threatened mammals that Yala harbors. Although water buffaloes are indigenous to Sri Lanka, most populations contain genes of domestic stock or have descended from feral populations. The elephant population in the park varies seasonally. Early morning (the first 2 hours) and late afternoon (the last 2 hours) are the golden hours for spotting leopards.
Leopards and bears are rare animals. We recommend full-day and half-day (7 hours) safari tours to see leopards.
Morning safari tours and evening safari tours are also good for spotting all kinds of animals, depending on the day’s sightings. Please understand this is wildlife!

Fantastic Experience, Worth Doing! - We had an absolutely brilliant afternoon on this safari, We were able to see a Leopard, Crocodile, Monkeys, Wild Boars, Buffalos, an array of Birds and a herd of elephants that were walking around with the baby elephant that had been born just the evening before, They came right up our to our truck and it was a brilliant experience, We couldn't have had a natter time...Thank you so much!

Best safari in Sri Lanka! - This was by far our best safari in Sri Lanka, not only because of the location but also because of the service provided by our driver.
He was very knowledgeable and very attentive with my wife and I. Also, the most important thing, he went the extra mile to ensure that we see as many different animals as possible. As a result, we managed to have an amazing encounter with 2 leopards!
During safaris, the attitude of the driver really makes a difference, and that is the reason why I provide the max. rating to these guys!

Fantastic half day afternoon Yala Tour - Fantastic tour of Yala national park. We did the evening tour and were some of the first into the park when they reopen at 2pm. Our guide was very knowledgeable and seemed to know exactly where to find the animals. We were able to see everything in the park, including the sloth bear and a sleeping leopard! We really appreciated that our driver didn’t crowd or rush to the animals and turned his engine off so we could really experience the scene when we got to an animal. Highly recommend!

Awesome time in Yala National park & bear 2 metres away from us - We had such an amazing time in Yala Nationalpark with our guide and we were so lucky to see versatile animals. We did the afternoon tour from 2PM-6PM (when the Park closes).
I think on this specific day we were very lucky because besides of several elephant (also eephant Families) we saw 2 bears (one of them just 2 metres away from us) and a crocodile. We didnt expected this.
The Tour guide was so nice and searched with us for the best places. He also drove the jeep super professional that we always had the best Views.
Can highly recommend:)

An amazing Safari - We loved the tour - the guide is very passionate about his job and puts lots of efforts into delivering the best experience possible.
We arrived a bit late for a half day tour and didn't have that much time, but Udayanga managed to show us many different animals. Closer to the end of the tour, he managed to find Leopard, which is quote hard to do, but the guide specializes at it. We spend 10 minites in the vehicle literally 15 meters away from the animal, just watching, taking pictures and videos, while Leopard was laying relaxed.

Highly recommend for great safari - Great guide and Tour! Timely and professional. We were able to see both leopard and sloth bear! Our guide took our interests into consideration and was knowledgeable about the birds of the park as well. Definitely recommend

Good but a lot more expensive than planned - 𝗬𝗮𝗹𝗮 is amazing. Tons of animals everywhere! Our guide was really chill and joyful. When I bought these tickets, I thought that was it. A day of so before hand, I got notices stating I would have to purchase entry tickets into the park separate from what I had already purchased. When you show up to the park, the sign says $25 U.S. per adult but then they charge you $35 a person! This was $70 for the two of us I wasn’t expecting when I first bought this tour. I would recommend people just go to Tissamaharama, (the town these tours leave from) and just book with one of the guys driving around in a jeep.
