It features both an embankment and a gravity section, with a combined length of about 3.9 km (2.4 mi). Additionally, the dam supports hydroelectric power generation, operating two 2 MW units since their commissioning in April 1969.
The reservoir’s water level is managed by five tainter gate spillways at the dam’s eastern end, along with two more spillways situated centrally. The reservoir spans approximately 8.6 km (5.3 mi) in length and has a maximum width of 7 km (4.3 mi).
