Highlights

Arrival in Arusha

Arusha - Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a Benson Safaris Tanzania Transfer Driver and transferred to your lodge where the remainder of the day is at leisure – rest in your room, relax in the manicured gardens, enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool or explore Arusha and the surrounding areas on one of our day tours, the choice is yours.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, you will drive to the Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. Tarangire is one of Africa’s little-known gems and should be on the itinerary of all lovers of wilderness and solitude. Its name originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park and is the only source of water during the dry season.

Tarangire’s landscape is incredibly diverse with a mix that is not found anywhere else on the northern safari circuit. It is dotted with ancient baobab trees, which the Maasai people believe are the first tree in the creation and large termite mounds. The dry season sees the harsh sun suck the moisture from the landscape, baking the earth a dusty red while the wet season brings dense bush and luscious high grasses.

Famous for its large elephant population, it is also home to zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, dwarf mongoose, impala, buffalo, antelope, . Predators include lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - Today you will travel to the Serengeti National Park which is one of Africa’s premier game parks. Driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Serengeti National Park you will begin to experience the vastness of this territory and marvel at the multitude of animal and birdlife while cruising through this acacia spotted savannah.

You will visit a Maasai Village in the Ngorongoro Highlands (optional) where you will meet the Elders, Warriors, women, and children and learn about the culture, beliefs, and traditions of Tanzania’s last nomadic tribe.

The Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park and is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Serengeti is a year-round destination and each season has its special highlight with the most famous being the annual wildebeest migration, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

You will game drive en route before arriving at the Serengeti in time for a half-day game drive.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - Today you will venture deeper into the world-famous Serengeti on a full-day game drive.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - Today you will be rewarded with a full-day game drive in the stunning Ngorongoro Crater which became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979 and is one of the only places on earth where mankind and wild animals co-exist in harmony. The Ngorongoro Crater is famous for Africa’s best game viewing as there is an ever-present abundance of wildlife due to the permanent water supply on the crater floor.

Upon arrival at the Crater’s rim, you will descend 610 meters into the Crater where your safari truly begins. Spot the endangered black rhino as well as wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, eland, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle and of course, giant tusked elephants. The Crater also has the largest known population of lions and you will also find leopards and cheetahs as well as scavengers such as spotted hyenas, jackals, and rare wild dogs.

In the late afternoon, you will drive to the Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge where you will spend the night.

Lake Eyasi

Lake Eyasi - After an early breakfast, you will meet your local guide and together you will meet the Hadzabe Bush People and Datoga Tribe. Join them as they go about their daily activities such as hunting and gathering. You will visit the area where they collect fruits and roots and find water during the dry season as well as visit the caves they call home.

After lunch, you will return to your lodge where the remainder of the day is at leisure – swim in the pool which offers a refreshing respite from the dusty conditions, enjoy a cool drink at the bar or relax on your private balcony overlooking the lake.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park - Today you will visit the Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive. Stretching along the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is home to giant fig trees, acacia woodlands, mahogany trees, and grassy flood plains. The contrasts of this area are simply breathtaking with its open plains, huge escarpment, Soda Lake, dense woodlands, and distant volcanic peaks coming together in an area best described by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”.

Animals such as large buffalo, wildebeest, giraffes, mongoose, dik-dik, and zebra herds congregate on the grassy plains while the narrow belt of acacia woodland is home to the legendary tree-climbing lions and tusked elephants.

Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife with more than 400 species being recorded. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration.

In the late afternoon, you will return to Arusha for your final evening.

Roaring Good Time! - We had a trip of a lifetime with our guide Zablon from Benson Safaris Tanzania! Our itinerary introduced us not only to the animals of Tanzania, but also to its varied landscapes and its people. Zablon used his in-depth network and his experience to get us up close to many elephants, lions (lots!), cheetahs, and incredibly a hippo grazing out of the water. We also glimpsed in the distance a rhino. We were amazed how many animals we saw and how close we were able to be with them. The sightings were beyond our expectations! Just amazing! Zablon also shared his knowledge and experience with us as we drove through the different National Parks. We enjoyed spending time with three different tribes from Tanzania: Maasai, Hadzabe Bush People, and the Datoga Tribe. The selections for our accommodations during our safari were very luxurious, often jaw-dropping, with friendly, helpful people. The food was plentiful, varied, and delicious. Thank you Zablon and Benson Safaris, we had a fabulous time on safari with you!

Wonderful Tanzanian safari - I traveled to Tanzania in June 2023 with Benson Safaris and my two eldest children and 7 teen aged grand children. Of my 5 African safaris this was my best. Benson let me design our trip in all respects including visiting tribes for the children and staying at places with pools, etc. Our 3 driver/guides were knowledgeable and patient and went out of their way to make sure the teens enjoyed themselves. And the animals we saw were very accommodating by showing themselves often and closely. I plan in the future to use Benson for another trip with my final 2 children and 7 grand children.

Best Safari Experience in our Lives! - From booking the tour to it's end, I only have praise. Our fluent in German and English tour Driver/ Guide Michael, arrived punctually with a 100% well equipped A/C Jeep. Cold drinks, binoculars, Information guide about wild life and plants we would see, were all part of the amenities. Michael the guide, was "simpatico" and really knowledgeable about wild life and culture in general. He made the experience richer by providing us with very Professional Information. Michael took care of "everything" like the check in at lodges, entries to the national Parks and was a very good driver on some very precarious roads. We booked a 7 day Safari beginning with Manyara Nalt. Park, Norongoro Crater, Serengeti and finishing in Tarengira Nalt. Park. The coronucopia of experiences of seeing all the big 5 animals and a mirade of birds ( Michael was an expert in Bird life) made this tour a "life time memorable experience". We would highly recommend booking with Benson Safari!

Totally amazing. - We started planning this trip in 2017. We had to cancel and rebook two different times, once for an injury to my dad and once because of covid. We also added people, changed the itinerary, and added a trek up Mount Kilimanjaro With every change or question, we were met with kindess and a very high level of service. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Benson was absolutely amazing. We loved every part of the trip and recommend this company without any reservation.

Truly amazing safari company! - Our safari with Benson was truly amazing. Their communication upfront is clear and quick, with a clear itinerary, plenty of room for questions and good payment options and confirmations. Our experience during the safari was simply great. Our guide Peter was the most friendly, attentive, knowledgable and kind person we could have wished for and the owner Benson surprised us on multiple occassions. The itinerary was very well planned, we’ve seen amazing landscapes and animals (guide Peter had a very good eye) and the hotels were very well arranged. We’d truly like to urge you to consider choosing this locally owned provider, as the thought and effort they put in to make your safari the best is unmatched and you contribute directly to the local community. Thanks Benson and Peter, we really felt like part of the family!

The big five with Benson - We were a group of 4 people and chose to do the 8 day safari (Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, lake Eyasi and Manyara). Before our trip, everything was clearly and we knew that the organization was going to be good. Our tour was amazing and we know that we will back and choose Bensons safaris again. We had great crew wit Guide Benson and Cooking Master. We saw all animals very close (included cheetah, big 5, and many more), even rhino was few meters to us. Everything was very professional and safe. Thank you guys! 🤗 🤩🌳🦬🌿🦁🌲🐘🌴🦏🪴🐆

Once in a Lifetime dream came true - Long time ago I planed to visit Tanzania. After I had a look around for several safari company I met through recommendation Benson from Benson Safaris Tanzania. I had a wonderful 8 days safari with a German speaking guide (Kessy) as a solo traveling woman. I will highyly recommend Benson Safaris Tanzania because of their passion for Wildlife, attention to detail, well knowledgeable guides and the option of private safaris. Nevertheless my safari car was well equipped and almost brandnew. At any time I felt safe, had a great food as a vegetarian and all accommodation were really nice, clean, friendly and well picked from Benson.
