Fun, informative, and delicious - Alonso did a fantastic job introducing us not only to the regional food of Arequipa but also sharing some history of the city and country and answering all of our many questions. The tour was well organized, thoughtful, informative! Well worth the cost, I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about food and culture in Arequipa.

Irreproachable, we love it - We enjoyed it so much! Everything went well, Alonso was great company. We learned a lot about history from the pre-Incas to recent events... Peru's cuisine is very rich, so each dish has a story... that merges with the country's history. We learned and tasted great dishes. Super experience, I highly recommend it, book it!!!

Delicious food tour with great guide - If you want to discover authentic Peruvian food and some very tasty drinks combined with some history about the beautiful city of Arequipa, don't miss this tour! Arequipa Food Tour combines food and walking tour. Alonso was a super nice, knowledgeable and fun guide who speaks very good English. He makes you feel comfortable and is responsive to your interests. At the Mercado San Camilo he showed us the many varieties of Peruvian potatoes and other products used in Peruvian dishes and made us taste different exotic fruits. The restaurants we visited are the most typical of Arequipa's cuisine and the food was delicious and of very good quality. Alonso also knows a lot about drinks, especially about the production of pisco and its history. Chicha de Guiñapo and Chilcano de tumbo are drinks that we discovered on this tour and were happy to order again later. All in all, we had a very enjoyable afternoon. The tour is 100% worthwhile.

One of the best things to do in Arequipa - Alonso was a great guide, super knowledgeable and accommodating. He made us try great food AND great drinks from Arequipa and that was a major highlight of our trip to Peru! All the restaurants chosen were great and in our case, he did a food tour and a regular walking tour at the same time. We had a lot of fun and ate so so well.

Not to Miss Food Tour! - We spent a delightful afternoon with Alonso seeing the sites of Arequipa and tasting the various culinary wonders. We toured the market which was very interesting and we were able to taste various fruits native to the area. At each restaurant, we had more than enough food tastes and beverages and he explained the history of the dishes and what was included. He very carefully managed my food intolerance of peppers (a real challenge in Peru). He also made a dinner reservation for us for that evening. Alonso is a charming, knowledgeable tour guide.

Best Street Food Tour - We booked the Street food Tour in Arequipa through the website. The communication was great! The food Tour itself is totally worth the money! You get soooo much good food and come in places that you otherwise would’nt visit/try. Our guide was called Alonso. A super kind, funny and smart Guy who showed us the best eats in Arequipa city and market. Next to the wonderfull food he also explained a bit of Peru history which made it the perfect combination. One of the best tours we’ve done so far! Would 100% recommend :).

The whole food tour was a huge disappointment - We booked the very expensive tour because I read a lot of good reviews on TripAdvisor. unfortunately we are very disappointed. 1. the meeting point was stated incorrectly. 2. No contact could be made at the number provided by phone or text message (whats app). the company claimed they tried to call me - but I received no message. 3. we waited 25 minutes, then the guide came. 4. After a very short apology, without explaining what the reason was, he rushed off quickly and stressed. 5. Communication was just empty phrases, most time he Look in top his mobil phone 6. We had to run after him so as not to lose him. 7. He wanted to go to the market. we explained, that we were just thus morning at the market. there were no adjustments, no accommodation of us. the program was carried out. 8. In each of the following three (not four!) restaurants, two small dishes were ordered (which were delicious and well explained). The value of this dish each was very low an so the prince for the tour was absolutely overpriced! and we only visited 3, not 4 restaurants, get only 2 drinks not 3! So the tender is not correct! The market, where we tried 3 fruits, is not a restaurant! This annoys us very much and does not correspond to the expectations we had from the description of the tour. At the end of the tour, the guide suddenly jumped up and left the restaurant almost in a hurry - and didn't take us back to the starting point, even though that was also in the description. overall this was a very really disappointing experience. the tour was far too expensive for what was offered, the services described were not met and the communication was unprofessional. absolutely not recommended!
