Trek to Jagat

Jagat - Today’s trail is an easy one through the thick forest by the Budhi Gandaki River. You’ll pass through various villages mainly inhabited by the Gurung community. The path will take you through farmland, rivers, and villages, becoming narrower as you climb higher. You’ll cross some seasonal streams and hike over a suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River to reach Jagat. Overnight stay at Jagat.

Trek to Deng

Mount Manaslu - The hike to Deng involves some uphill climbs, with limited villages and households along the way. The trail passes through forests and farmland, offering majestic views of hills, mountains, and rivers. Overnight stay at Deng.

Trek to Namrung

Namrung - Starting with an uphill climb, you’ll follow the Budhi Gandaki River to the west. This hike offers views of the Himalayas, villages, and rivers. As you ascend to higher altitudes, the temperature becomes more pleasant and enjoyable. Along the way, you’ll visit some Buddhist gumbas and ethnic villages. Overnight stay at Namrung.

Trek to Sama Gaun

Samagaun - As you venture deeper into the Himalayas, this hike becomes easier and more relaxing due to the majestic views of the mountains. The trail has less vegetation, allowing you to explore further areas. You’ll pass by Buddhist villages, gumbas, prayer flags, and mani stones, all the way to the popular destination of Sama Gaun.

Rest Day hike to Birendra Lake or Manaslu Base Camp

Trek to Samdo

Trek to Dharamsala

Annapurna Mountain Range - Today will be the most challenging day, reaching the highest elevation for an overnight camp. The trail leads through an open area with almost no vegetation, and in winter, it’s covered in snow. Enjoy panoramic views of the mighty Himalayas, including Annapurna II (7937m), Himlung Himal (7126m), Kang Guru (6981m), Cheo Himal (6820m), and Gyaji Kung (7030m). You’ll hike further to Dharamsala, named after the Tibetan Dalai Lama’s abode. Overnight stay at Dharamsala.

Trek to Bimthang Via Larkya La Pass 5106m

Mount Manaslu - This day will be challenging due to the altitude. Starting your trail into the Himalayas, you’ll cross Larkya La Pass, the highest point of the entire trek. The pass offers majestic views of Manaslu, Annapurna, and numerous other peaks. You’ll then descend towards Bimthang village, passing prayer flags, mani stones, and gumbas. Overnight stay at Bimthang.

Trek to Dharapani

Dharapani - An easy day of descending trails awaits you. As you descend, you’ll encounter villages and settlements where Buddhism is practiced. With stupas, gumbas, and farewells to the Himalayas, you’ll cross a river to reach Dharapani. Overnight stay at Dharapani.

Local Jeep drive to Besi Sahar

Besisahar - Today’s trail is easy, as you drive along and above the Marshyandi River. Passing by hydropower projects, the trail broadens and finally leads to Besisahar. Explore this mountain city, the capital of the Lamjung district. Overnight stay at Besisahar.

Drive to Kathmandu

Kathmandu Durbar Square - From Dharapani, you’ll drive all the way to Kathmandu on the same day, a journey of around 7-8 hours. Passing rivers and villages, you’ll travel on drivable roads until you reach the well-paved roads leading to Kathmandu.

Additional Information

Manaslu is a well-loved path less traveled, taking you through a region of stunning natural appeal. The area is extensive and diverse, boasting views of the impressive Mt. Manaslu (8163m), the world’s 8th highest peak, and Mt. Annapurna (8091m), the 10th highest. The Manaslu trek showcases a harmonious mix of natural scenery, cultural attributes, and religious significance. The region resides in Nepal’s Gorkha district, sharing a boundary with Tibet to the north. It’s an area with limited access, only allowing a small number of trekkers through with a specific permit. This means participants need to make special arrangements to venture into the Manaslu area. Compared to other routes in the Nepalese Himalayas, this path is less frequented. Manaslu is blessed with a range of attractions, being a conservation area on path to Annapurna too, enabling trekkers the option to re-route and explore the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri regions. The Manaslu trek is an achievable journey, offering majestic panoramic views of the expansive Himalayan range, valleys, and glaciers, culminating in reaching the highest point at Larkey La Pass (5100m).

A great hike - A very pleasant hike through the forest following a roaring stream up the mountain. It is a popular outing for many from Kathmandu so there were quite a few groups hiking. The crowds thinned out as we got higher and finally we had a lovely meal at an organic farm and restaurant before returning along the same route. A thoroughly enjoyable outing!

Unforgettable experience in beautiful mountains - This was my first trek in Nepal and it was truly amazing. The trip was very well organized, our guide Thakur was very friendly and always selected great places for rest and food. Our porter Chandra was very helpful and always in the good mood, although he needed to carry a lot more than we did. The surrounding of Manaslu is amazing piece of nature full of wild animals, beautiful plants, breathtaking views and nice locals in the villages. Also the journey to the start of the trek by local transport was unforgettable experience. I would recommend this tour to all trekkers, who are looking for great adventure in beautiful mountains and don't want to share the track with crowds as it could happen at the better known treks around Everest or Annapurna. You should be ready to step out of the comfort zone for few moments - yes, few ascents were challenging due to high altitude and it was very cold one night we spent at Dharmasala - the last village before Larkey Pass. After our comeback to Kathmandu we had very nice lunch with Kumar and Santosh - the guys from Discover Altitude who told us many interesting facts about life in Nepal. All in all it was one of the best experiences in my life and in few years I will definitely come back to Nepal and go for another trek with Discover Altitude.

Manaslu Circuit Trek - 10 days - I appreciate nice approach from our guide and porter. They took care of us and we could enjoy breathtaking views and moments in beautiful nature near Manaslu. The agency had everything very well prepared in advance. We did customized 10 Manaslu circuit days trek instead of 12 days. It was difficult but still manageable due to great help of our porter. Thanks a lot.

Nature - The real healer. - Root cause of misery is our distant relationship with nature. When we again be in nature, we are healed. In a state of severe anxity and stress, I went for a trek with Discover Altitude. The natual aura and energy along with friendly attitudes of Basu g and Kumar g helped me to overcome my inner disturbances. I would like to suggest all the friends who are in search of sheer peace from all around the world including Europe and America to come in the lap of mother nature . Discover altitude can be your best pal to do so. Thanks again to Discover Altitude, Basu g and Kumar g for their inexplicable support.

Nepal tour and trek 2022 - This was our first experience in Nepal. So decided to go for a short trek and explore Pokhara and Chitwan tour. our first destination region. It was easy trek to the highest altitude of 3880 m. We spend two magnificent night in Namche, visited sherpa village and hikrd to Everest view hotel to explore the Himalayas and we were excited to see wide range of Himalayas. After 4 days of trek we went to Pokhara and Chitwan, both were lovely sides with mesmerizing scenery and standing arrogantly tall mountains. Pokhara was awesome with lakes and Annapurna mountain. meanwhile, Chitwan with wildlife. we saw rhino, tiger, deer, bear and crocodile and enjoyed culture tour around the village before flying to kathmandu.. Although it was our first experience , Mr.Kumar the MD of Discover Altitude is really amazing , knowledgeable, caring and motivating person. We would love to see him in the coming days. Highly recommended this team ,who wish to explore the fascinating Nepal. My warm and best wishes on behalf of me and my friends.
