Amazing!! highly recommended - This was so fun. They were so nice and I learned so much. I recommend this to anyone. Plus we got to eat the fruits of our labors with the most beautiful view. Carolina was patient, & a great teacher.

Amazing experience in Monteverde - This is the first review I have ever been inspired to write. This was such a great experience. Carolina was an excellent instructor. Met great people who were also traveling. The whole experience was relaxing, fun, and felt like I was at home cooking with love ones, exchanging stories, talking bout our experience in Costa Rica, and laughing. The empanadas and bread were delicious and I’ll try to make them at home when I’m back. Highly recommend!

A Wonderful, Heartfelt Bread-Making Experience in Monteverde - Our bread-making experience with Carolina at her family’s farm in Monteverde was truly special. From the moment we arrived, she welcomed us with warmth and shared stories of her family’s baking traditions, passed down through three generations. Using recipes from her grandmother—and even a cherished metal mixing spoon handed down through the years—Carolina made the experience deeply personal and authentic. Her passion for baking and her love for sharing her culture shone through every step of the process. She was incredibly personable, spoke excellent English, and made sure we felt at home in her kitchen. The bread we made was absolutely delicious, and the entire experience was both educational and heartwarming. If we ever return to Monteverde, we would not hesitate to visit again. This is a must-do experience for anyone looking to connect with local traditions in a meaningful way!

Cute experience! - This was SUCH a fun experience. We didn’t have this originally planned and something we decided on last minute and so so glad we did. Just a lovely wholesome experience with a sweet Costa Rican family. They made us feel at home. The empanadas were my personal favorite but the bread was also great. Fun experience if you have some extra time in Monteverde

Wonderful bread making and empanadas making class - We had a wonderful time we made empanadas which were amazing and a sweet bread. Our host was so sweet and the location was beautiful and peaceful

An experience like no other! - from the start to the finish, this experience is one of the best we've ever had. Carolina was our gracious host and from the moment we met her we knew we were at the right place . She showed us around her farm Kitchen, where we would be taking our breadmaking lesson. We quickly got into preparing the ingredients for her to teach us how to make a simple bread recipe that's been in her family for decades. These recipes are ones that her grandmother taught her to use to prepare bread and empanadas.. Carolina did not judge us as we we were a bit awkward in working through the recipe and preparing the breads. The finished products of both sweetbreads and empanadas was beyond our expectation and to put it mildly were some of the best tasting fresh baked goods we've ever had. We finished by sitting down and conversing about some of Carolina's family history and some stories of her past, all the while drinking some delicious coffee and eating our creations. Before leaving, we reviewed some of the gifts in their gift shop area and were delighted by the quality and overall beauty of the merchandise and did leave with our hands full. We highly recommend this tour.

A wonderful time - An experience I will not forget. Our host was exceptional, she made us feel at home and I'm not good with my Spanish and I soon realized that I was saying words I shouldn't have which made us all laugh. A wonderful lady.

Great experience! - This was one of the highlights of our trip to Monteverde! The afternoon we visited it was POURING rain so we really did not have much else to do. We were so pleasantly surprised by our bread making experience. The hosts are a mother and daughter who were so welcoming and told stories of their families experiences in Monteverde. The empanadas were delicious and the bread was tasty as well. I would highly recommend this activity if you are wanting a traditional Costa Rican experience.
