Pyramids of Dahshour - The Dahshur pyramids were crucial for the Egyptians’ learning, helping them transition from step-sided to smooth-sided pyramids. This experience ultimately enabled them to build the Great Pyramid of Giza, the last of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. The first Dahshur pyramid, the Bent Pyramid, was built under King Sneferu. It was the first attempt at a smooth-sided pyramid but was unsuccessful due to miscalculations in structural weight and block placement, causing subsidence and incorrect angles.
