Highlights
  • Giza Plateau - begins at 8:00 am with a pickup from your Cairo/Giza hotel by a tour guide. Start your full-day tour by visiting the Giza Pyramids, including the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Then, visit the Valley Temple where King Chephren’s body was mummified. Here, you will also get a close-up view of The Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren, standing by the massive funeral complex.
  • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only completely preserved portrait of King Khufu is a three-inch high ivory figurine found in a temple ruin at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were discovered in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Information about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents, such as the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty, where Khufu is the main character.
  • Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre, some found in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860, and others during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
  • Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also revealed several statues of Menkaure.
  • Great Sphinx - Visiting the Sphinx and Valley Temple on a camel ride at the Giza Pyramids offers a unique experience, making you feel as if you’ve traveled back in time by hundreds of years.
  • Memphis and Sakkara - Visit Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt, home to the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx. This city dates back to 3100 B.C. (1 hour spent).

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

  • Dahshur Lake - Visit the Dahshur Pyramids (Bent and Red Pyramids). Dahshur is a royal necropolis in the desert on the West Bank of the Nile, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of Cairo. It is known for several pyramids, two of which are among the oldest, largest, and best-preserved in Egypt, built between 2613–2589 BCE.

  • Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Visit Sakkara, located 27 km southwest of Cairo. See the Step Pyramid (built for King Zoser), an important part of the pyramid evolution from the simple mastaba to its well-known form.

  • Pyramid of Unas - The Pyramid of Unas (Egyptian: Nfr swt Wnjs “Beautiful are the places of Unas”) is a smooth-sided pyramid built in the 24th century BC for Pharaoh Unas, the ninth and final king of the Fifth Dynasty. It is the smallest Old Kingdom pyramid but significant for the discovery of Pyramid Texts, spells for the king’s afterlife inscribed on the walls of its subterranean chambers. This tradition of funerary texts began with Unas’s pyramid and continued in the pyramids of later rulers, through the end of the Old Kingdom and into the Middle Kingdom with the Coffin Texts that form the basis of the Book of the Dead.

  • Pyramid of Teti - Located in Saqqara, the Pyramid of Teti is an ancient structure built as the final resting place for Pharaoh Teti. It stands as a testament to the ingenuity and architectural prowess of the Old Kingdom. Visitors from around the world are drawn to its impressive size and historical significance. Explore the chambers and corridors to uncover the mysteries of ancient Egypt and immerse yourself in the rich history of this iconic landmark.

  • Mastaba of Ti - The Mastaba of Ti is one of the most important archaeological sites in Saqqara, discovered by Auguste Mariette. The mastaba contains two serdabs, and its walls depict various scenes of everyday life.

Terrific pyramid overview - This tour exceeded our expectations. We were able to appreciate the different pyramid complexes and how they are situated within Giza’s sprawling desert landscape. The guide and driver were first-rate. Highly recommended.

The best tour leader - It was one of the best tours that I ever have had and it was because of our kind tour leader; Mr. Essam. He was very knowledgeable and explain things in the best format. Beside tour leading, he is a very good photographer and took a lot of nice photos from us. He really cares about us, for example when he found that we did not have breakfast, prepared delicious cookies and coffee to eat on the way to Giza. I think he loved his job and because of this he was trying to make everything in the best way. Thanks him for making a wonderful day and also thanks to our driver Mr Tamer that we felt safe among other drivers who were driving very crazy 😊. I 100% recommend Mr Esssam and Tamer.

Met expectations but do have some complaints - Overall, this met our requirements of a day in Cairo seeing as many pyramids we could see. We started with Dashur, and got to go inside the Red Pyramid - highly recommend and it's included in the ticket. We saw the Bent Pyramid as well, but did not go inside as the guide said we didn't have enough time. Then we stopped at "Memphis" which is basically an open air museum. Then onto Saqqara and Giza. At Giza, we went to the 3 high pyramids and rode a camel. Like I said, overall this was what we wanted, but we do have 2 complaints and they are worth noting for future tourists booking. 1) our driver was absolutely crazy. I know Egypt has wild drivers, but there were at least 4 close calls with merging a bunch of lanes, slamming on brakes and unnecessarily fast acceleration. Just think the tour company should know, especially when they're transporting tourists all around. 2) we're pretty sure our tour guide ripped us off with the camel ride. Previously we were told the camel ride should be about $10 for 15 min ride. When we got to the camels, our guide told us it was 900 EGP per person. Both of us were shocked (cause that's around $30 per person). We pushed back a little and he told us it was government regulated and that's the price. We only had $50 and he took it from us and put it in his pocket. We never saw him pay the camel guy and "negotiate" for us like he said he was going to. We think he just paid them the minimum and kept the rest. Unfortunate and spoiled the end of our time at Giza.

Ancient Cairo - the most important reason to rate this tour 2 stars is the guide of the tour, Marwan. He was a nice guy, but when it comes to give information about the places, he failed. We saw other guides at same places walking and talking together with their groups and always giving historical information about the places. but marwan told us in the car which place we were heading at that time. when we reached the historical site, he said "I'm waiting you outside, go and look around". never been with us. secondly the restaurant that we had lunch was in a bad neighborhood and a bad place to eat. And we had lunch at almost 3.30 PM. beside these the historical sites we had visited was amazing. every one should visit. but not with this tour.

Very interesting but a long day - My guide Entissar was very friendly, very knowledgeable and has good English. The tour started at 8:30am and continued till 5pm. The pyramids at Giza and the sphinx are excellent. You are given the option of buying a ticket to go into the big Pyramid (E£300, c €10). It is a difficult uphill walk in a narrow hot chamber, so not for everyone, but what an experience. I was then driven to a viewing location to get photos but it was a bit too far away for a good photograph and not at a great angle. The photo location at the Sphinx was much better. I then went to see the other pyramids at Saqqara and Dahshur, these are relatively close to each other (5Km) but I was to tired to go into the last one 65m downhill in a small narrow chamber. I was also brought to a very interesting children's carpet making factory, where there was no pressure to buy anything but there was a private guide and a small drink so it makes it very difficult to say no! The bottle of water I was given was long gone, so bring more and toilet paper! The statue of Ramses in Memphis is amazing, do go to see it! The dinner was good but only at 3:30pm, a bit late, and does not include a drink which was very disappointing. Unfortunately, the trip was made not nice by locals constantly looking for money for small things like telling you to mind you head on the way in and taking a photo of you. Overall very interesting, but a long day and lots of avoiding locals. No drink included with the meal was a huge disappointment.

Very disappointed! - I was very disappointed with the Private Day Trip to the Giza Pyramids, Memphis City, Dahshur, and Saggara Pyramids that we attended on Wednesday, accompanied by Nasser as our guide and Ahmed as our driver. Regrettably, the service provided did not meet the expectations set by the glowing reviews of the tours. The primary issue was communication; Nasser's command of English was insufficient, impeding our ability to understand and engage with the historical significance of the sites visited. His explanations were brief and inadequate, leaving us to wander without insight or context. Although I chose this company despite the higher cost, anticipating a superior experience, the tour did not justify the expense. I am conflicted about seeking compensation, as I am sympathetic to Nasser's position, yet I believe there is a need for significant improvement in his english and guide skills. It is crucial not just for the sake of future clients, but also to ensure the value of their services aligns with the price. It is my hope that this feedback will be constructive, preventing others from facing a similar situation where the premium price does not equate to a premium service.
