Highlights
  • Gizeh Plateau - Begins at 8:00 am with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo/Giza by a tour guide. Start your full-day tour visiting the Giza Pyramids, including the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Then, visit the Valley Temple where the priests mummified King Chephren’s body. You’ll also get a close-up view of The Sphinx.
  • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been found, but the site remains unexcavated. The valley temple was connected to a causeway, largely destroyed during the village’s construction.
  • Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre, discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860 and during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
  • Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also revealed several statues of Menkaure.
  • Great Sphinx - The Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren, stands by the vast funeral complex. (2:30 hrs spent)

Lunch is included between visits at a local restaurant, offering a full meal for each person, but beverages are not included. (1 hr spent)

  • Memphis and Sakkara - Visit Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt, home to the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx. This city dates back to 3100 B.C. (1 hr spent)

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

  • Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Visit Sakkara, located 27 km southwest of Cairo. See the Step Pyramid, built for King Zoser, an important part of the pyramid evolution from the simple mastaba to its well-known form. (2 hrs spent)
  • Statue of Ramses II - The Statue of Ramesses II is a 3,200-year-old figure depicting him standing. Discovered in 1820 by Giovanni Battista Caviglia at the Great Temple of Ptah near Memphis, Egypt, it is made of limestone and weighs 83 tons. This statue was built to celebrate the victory over the Hittites in the Battle of Kadesh in 1274 B.C.
  • Dahshur lake - Visit the Dahshur Pyramids (Bent and Red Pyramids). The Dahshur area is a royal necropolis in the desert on the west bank of the Nile, about 40 kilometers (25 mi) south of Cairo. It is known for several pyramids, two of which are among the oldest, largest, and best-preserved in Egypt, built from 2613–2589 BCE. (1 hr spent)
  • Pyramid of Unas - The Pyramid of Unas is a remarkable ancient structure in Saqqara, Egypt. Built as a tomb for Pharaoh Unas, it is one of the oldest and best-preserved examples of pyramid architecture. This monument is a testament to the ingenuity and skill of ancient Egyptian builders and stands as a lasting tribute to the power and influence of the pharaohs.

Explore the chambers and corridors to uncover the mysteries of ancient Egypt and immerse yourself in its rich history.

Excellent Trip with MO Salah - Excellent trip! MO Salah was always in touch and contacted us the day prior to ensure he knew where to pick us up in the morning. Our day started with a traditional Egyptian breakfast before starting the tour. I have to say that he is like a walking encyclopedia. He explained the history of all of the sites and answered all of my questions. Besides the sites mentioned on the tour, we also stopped by a carpet and papyrus shop. The option is yours if you would like to purchase anything, but I have to say that the work is of high quality. We ended the day with a traditional Egyptian dinner: kabobs, grilled chicken, rice, and salad. I highly recommend this trip and our guide!

Mo Salah was Amazing!! - I cannot say enough about our amazing tours with Mo Salah this week! I took 3 tours (Alexandria, Giza/Sakkara/Dahshour/Memphis, and Egyptian Museum/Citadel), all with Mo Salah. He was always on-time, super friendly, and very knowledgeable. He helped us see and learn about all the interesting information that each site had to offer. He also helped us avoid tourist traps, etc. He took us to some great spots for lunch, too. We booked all of our tours through Emo Tours, who referred Mo Salah to us. We can't thank them enough...he was wonderful! If you book through Emo Tours (which I highly recommend), be sure to ask for Mo Salah. You won't be disappointed.
