Highlights
  • Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery - Your visit will start with a short film in the auditorium, followed by a chance to explore the heritage centre and discover more about the remarkable history of John Dewar & Sons. This part of your visit is self guided with the aid of audio guides/ipads, available in various languages. Your experienced tour guide will then take you on a tour of the Aberfeldy Distillery and warehouse so you can learn more about the whisky making magic! The tour ends with a wee dram in the whisky lounge for adults / seniors. Drivers can request a take-away pack to create a Maime Taylor cocktail at home.

Your ticket does not include transport to/from the distillery. The distillery is located on the outskirts of picturesque Aberfeldy, nestled on the banks of the River Tay, 20 mins from the A9 in Highland Perthshire, 90 minutes from Edinburgh. Free parking.

Additional tastings and whisky cocktails are available at the bar. You can browse the shop showcasing the full Dewar’s portfolio along with exclusive limited edition single cask bottlings and fill your own bottle with a specially selected cask of Aberfeldy Single Malt.

Tours take place throughout the day, present your voucher on arrival. Please note, last tour is 1 hour prior to closing, however we recommend allowing 1.5 hours for your visit.

As a traditional working distillery, visitors must wear sensible footwear on the distillery tour (no high heels or open toed shoes permitted).

Unfortunately dogs (except assistance dogs) are not permitted in the visitor centre or distillery.

Lovely experience - We did the tour today with Roy as our guide. He was entertaining, humorous and all inclusive. It isn’t easy to keep young children entertained but he involved them at every opportunity. Loved the tour and would highly recommend it.

You must visit ! - Fabulous time with Roy on the ‘yellow lanyard’ Connoisseur Experience with nibbles tour. Full of knowledge and good humour. He was generous with time after the tour when we had more questions about the casks and finishes. A mind of information: thank you. Thank you Dewar’s, and Roy, for making our afternoon the highlight - so far - of our Scottish holiday.

Great tour! - Absolutely great tour! Roy, our tour guide, was very enthusiastic and helpful, with a lot of funny jokes! He made me, a 19 year old with very little knowledge, enthusiastic about whiskey despite never having any before today!

A must for Whiskey lovers or others interested in learning about Scotch. - Ian was fantastic and the whiskey was great. I’ve done the Bourbon Trail and this was right up there as far as being very informative and the distillery is gorgeous.

Anders - Went with Rabbies from Edinburgh of which this was included. At the desiler, we got Roy as a guide, which worked well! Be pleasant, humorous and well informed. We got there, did the walking tour and then a whiskey tasting. We were there on a Sunday which meant they closed at 4pm. This meant that after the tour we only had time to test whiskey for about 5-10 minutes. This was very sad and it would have been good if they had informed us about the time so we could have had more time to test the whisky. 5/5 if we had more time.

Disappointing distillery visit - Attended a whisky tasting and tour today.it was a gift.Very disappointed, although tour was interesting, the tour guide was not very charismatic with no real personality.Interesting to find an English gent informing us about a Scottish whisky. When the tasting took place within the distillery on the last part of the tour where you got to taste 3 drams,it seemed to be very rushed.Whisky is to be savoured ,not rushed.Especially as the final 3 drams were taken out in the main cafe area where there was no rush. Also the drams on the tables had been poured hours before they were ready to be drunk and I am sure most of the alcohol must have evaporated.! The tour did not live up to my expectations or reflect past experiences in different distilleries. It was probably good value for money as it was fortunately not very expensive. Finally the bottles of whiskey in the shop were far more expensive than prices on the internet. Eg Master of Malt sells Dewars at least £40 cheaper
