Highlights

Cotswolds Villages and Countryside

Bourton-on-the-Water - A beautiful Cotswold village with lovely little stone bridges over the crystal-clear river Windrush. There is something here to suit everyone – unique, independent gift shops, charming riverside tea-rooms, the Motoring and Toy Museum, the Model Village; or you might want to just stroll along the river and watch the ducks. By the way, did we mention the best ice cream in the Cotswolds?

Ablington - A scenic drive along a picturesque, intimate valley dotted with secluded stone villages.

Bibury - Once described as ‘the most beautiful village in the Cotswolds’ and home to the world-famous Arlington Row cottages. So picturesque and quintessentially Cotswolds that Henry Ford tried to buy the whole lot and move them all to his estate in Michigan. Fortunately, he failed, and Arlington Row is probably now the most photographed street in the whole of England with a fascinating history to boot – what more could you ask for?

Compton Abdale - A spectacular drive through a magnificent, unspoiled valley with some delightful surprises along the way, including a stop at our secret location - a beautiful village that certainly lives up to our promise to take you off the beaten track

Lower Slaughter - They say a picture paints a thousand words and that is definitely the case with this simply stunning village. It really is impossible to do it justice with words, you just have to visit Lower Slaughter and see it for yourself. To wander along the banks of the little river Eye and feast your eyes on the exquisite riverside cottages is a very special experience, one you won’t forget in a hurry. But that’s not all, because another feast awaits at the wonderful Slaughters Country Inn. Here you can enjoy a delicious homemade afternoon cream tea, with warm scones, clotted cream and seasonal preserve. Jam or cream first? You choose. Or maybe try it both ways! Even add champagne if you fancy?

Wyck Rissington - Another stunning scenic drive passing through more quintessential Cotswolds villages.

Minster Lovell - This is a hidden gem we would love to share with you. A last-minute addition when our tour planner’s inquisitive nature got the better of him and we’re so glad it did as its proof that the Cotswolds can surprise even us! He discovered a lovely street of picturesque, thatched cottages that leads to the enigmatic ruins of 15th century Minster Lovell Hall, which is said to be haunted by Lord Lovell whose skeleton was discovered in a secret chamber. When you’ve finished exploring this strange and fascinating place why not finish your amazing day in the Cotswolds with a drink down the road at the Old Swan, a cosy, 15th century, traditional country inn.

Cotswolds Stately Homes and Gardens

Sudeley Castle - Sudeley Castle is a delight for anyone with an interest in history and a love of gardens. Here you can immerse yourself in English history as you explore the castle and hear tales of 1,000 years of royal intrigue, romance, ruin, and revival. Then explore Sudeley’s ten exquisite, award-winning gardens, set against the romantic backdrop of the majestic castle and surrounded by the magnificent panorama of the Cotswold Hills.

Snowshill Manor and Garden - The rambling 16th century manor house is a treasure trove of curious and fascinating objects collected by its eccentric former owner Charles Wade. The glorious Arts and Craft gardens are an extension of the house with a series of outdoor rooms filled with curious portals and unexpected delights.

Hidcote Manor Garden - Hidcote is a world-famous Arts and Crafts-inspired Garden in the tiny hamlet of Hidcote Bartrim nestling in the glorious North Cotswold Hills. Covering an area of 10.5 acres the garden takes visitors on a journey through intimate formal areas and less ordered, but equally beautiful spaces, revealing a different atmosphere or new vista at every turn.
