• Abu Dhabi - The BAPS Hindu Mandir Abu Dhabi in the UAE is a traditional Hindu temple constructed by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. Inspired by Pramukh Swami Maharaj and consecrated by Mahant Swami Maharaj on 14 February 2024, it is the first traditional Hindu temple to be fully digitally modeled and undergo seismic simulation.
• Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center - As the largest mosque in the country, it uniquely showcases the interactions between Islam and global cultures. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is renowned as one of the most beautiful mosques worldwide, second only to the holy mosques. Its stunning architecture features pristine white marble with inlaid floral designs, the world’s largest carpet, magnificent chandeliers, serene water pools, 82 domes, and an exquisite design that is both peaceful and prayer-worthy. The mosque’s open-door policy welcomes tourists and worshippers from around the globe to admire the spectacular onion-top domes, reflective pools surrounding the courtyard, and the iconic prayer hall, which is bathed in blissful sunlight and houses the world’s largest handmade chandelier and carpet. Visitors should look for the calligraphy encircling the domes’ hollows, adorned with Quranic verses in An-Naskh script and painted with gold leaves.
• Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi - This iconic Abu Dhabi landmark is a stunning hotel that combines Arabian grandeur with modern luxury to create a magical and unforgettable experience. By day, the hotel’s golden-sandy hue contrasts beautifully with its lush green gardens, silvery fountains, and the blue sky. At night, the lighting transforms subtly, showcasing a majestic rainbow effect over the main dome. The main Palace building spans over a kilometer from wing to wing, with gardens and surroundings covering 100 hectares. The hotel boasts 114 domes, with the central dome rising 72.6 meters above ground. The interior is adorned with gold, mother of pearl, and crystals. • Heritage Village - Heritage Village in Abu Dhabi is a replica of an Emirati village showcasing Bedouin lifestyle and heritage. This cultural attraction is a family-friendly destination with no entry fees, open to all visitors. The site offers numerous attractions, including Bedouin tents with campfires and hot Arabic tea. Camels, Arabian horses, and goats are on display, delighting children. The village also hosts artisan exhibits of local arts like weaving and glass blowing. Visitors can shop in a traditional market offering handmade soap, silver jewelry, and traditional clothing. Some stalls provide traditional henna or mehndi with an authentic Arabic touch.
• Corniche Beach - The Corniche waterfront, with its white sandy beaches and expansive promenade, stretches along the entire northwest shore of the city. It offers breathtaking views of the iconic high-rise towers along the seafront and provides one of the city’s main recreational opportunities with dedicated cycle paths along the promenade and through the Corniche’s landscaped gardens. Refreshments are available from the public beaches along the western section of the road.
