- Al Wathba Fossil Dunes - It is believed that the formation of the current fossil dunes in Abu Dhabi began millions of years ago when the area was submerged underwater. Sand and sediments settled at the bottom, naturally mixing with calcium carbonate. Pressure and heat solidified them. After the water receded, the dunes were shaped by vital airwaves, resulting in stunning architectural designs.
