- The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi - Situated in Abu Dhabi, the National Aquarium is the largest in the Middle East. It is home to over 46,000 marine creatures and animals from more than 300 species. The aquarium is dedicated to the protection and preservation of endangered and rescued marine life. It opened to the public on November 12, 2021, aiming not only to entertain with its vast display of marine life but also to educate visitors about the importance of marine conservation and rehabilitation for our ecosystem. The aquarium is divided into 10 zones, each offering unique experiences and displays. These zones include UAE’s National Treasures, Sunken Sea Wrecks, Atlantic Caves, Flooded Forest, Fiery Volcanoes, and a Frozen Ocean. In addition to showcasing over 300 species, the aquarium offers exciting and adventurous activities such as glass-bottom dhow tours and personal encounters with sharks, among others.

Step inside and begin your journey through the National Aquarium. The first of the 46,000 marine species you will encounter are the turtles. Follow the provided directions to explore the aquarium displays one by one. There are many unique exhibits, such as a fish tank shaped like a vintage car, among others. The different zones of the National Aquarium include UAE’s national treasures, dedicated to the history of Arabian pearl fishing, where you can learn how oysters and pearls are formed while exploring marine life from the eastern Arabian Peninsula.
