The mosque is named for Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president of the United Arab Emirates and the founder of the mosque. He is buried in the mausoleum on the grounds here.
The mosque is open to people of all nationalities and religions, not only for Muslims.

- No smoking, eating, or drinking inside the mosque area.
- Dress code for men is long-sleeve shirts, long trousers, no shorts.
- Dress code for women is long trousers or skirts, long-sleeve shirts or tops, nothing tight, headscarf (important). Black Abayas are provided to visiting females. You might, or will probably, be given one to wear no matter how conservatively dressed you are so don’t worry too much about what you’re wearing, or if you forget to bring a scarf.
- Hair (for women) should be kept covered while in the mosque grounds but it’s not necessary to cover faces.
- Footwear must be removed before entering so it is recommended that visitors wear comfortable shoes that are easily removed

Great tour with Asma K - I had an wonderful public tour organised at the mosque and Asma K. has responded to all of our questions.
Definitely we will recommend the public tour to our fellow ones.

Very convenient - Amazing tour, everything was very convenient. Our guide Qasim is very accommodating and helped us find the right attire. We didn’t have to wait around all went very well and smoothly.

Excellent, excellent is all I can say!!! - The views were breathtaking, and Mosque was all I imagined it would be. Words can’t describe the beauty of it. Amjad the tour driver was very knowledgeable and an excellent companion during the drive.

Take a chance and book it - The trip was good I was under the impression my guide would stay with us to give us history and details but I may have not booked for that part. Our guide Khalid showed us how to enter then showed us where to meet him back at a certain time. But me and my friend was able to navigate around and found our way back to the meeting spot with no issues. overall the ride from the hotel and back was good and he was friendly. Would recommend for ppl who are ok with exploring

Great outing with very helpful and cooperative tour guide - Had a great experience on my first trip - which was a day long tour of Abu Dhabi from Dubai. Mr Ali came on time to pick us up from the hotel. He was very courteous and helpful. Gave lot of inputs along the way on all places of interest. The grand mosque is a marvel. Would recommend this as a must do trip when in Dubai.

Nice trip and very friendly driver Sunni - Best service ever. Sunni , our driver was very helpful and very polite. Our trip to Abu Dhabi was interesting, our driver gave us s lot of information about the people's life in UAE , also we got a lot of info about other places in Dubai.

Beautiful mosque, terrible journey - The mosque is undeniably spectacular and was wonderful to visit. The trip there and back was terrible, with us having to climb into a rear seat only suitable for a child, certainly not for us sexagenarians. When our driver bothered to speak we, of course, could not hear a thing. He showedg very little interest and it was simply a “drive and drop” situation.
