Abu Simbel day trip from Aswan - Excellent tour highly recommended. 3 hr drive each way, glad it wasn't me driving. The site itself was impressive.

Great experience going to Abu Simbel - Ahmed (+20 11 04829758) was our driver for the 3 1/2 hour drive each way. He knows the roads very well and was a reliable driver. He was punctual and went out of his way to make us feel safe.

Amazing place , exquisite view and affable tour guide. - We just had an amazing tour to Abu Simbel from Aswan. We booked a private tour as the group tours start at 4 AM which is too early after a tiring day. The ride was comfortable and driver was polite. We met our charming tour guide Mr. Hany at Abu simbel. To be quite frank his warm nature and humorous style will put even the most reserved introverts at ease. Another thing to know about Hany is that he is an accomplished photographer. He took numerous photos and videos for us and the results were amazing. He also would provide detailed information before hand and give us free time to explore the temples at our own pace. Another aspect I love about this tour guide is he didn’t coerce us to make unnecessary purchases ( which is usually a huge issue in Cairo and Luxor ). So fellow traveler if you are on the fence, please go ahead and book this tour. And enjoy the experience. PS Just realized I forgot the mention , both temples and amazing and must see.

Absolutely recommendable. - We had booked a ride from Aswan to Abu Simbel. The company we gladly recommend, as everything worked out fine. Punctuality, new vehicle, prudent driver. During the trip we received a lot of interesting information about the country and people. So everything's fine.

A good choice - Excellent value for money in private van with 4 with our friends. On arrival we find the guide speaking very well French, 30 minutes of full explanations based on photos (the guide not having the right to accompany us inside the 2 temples )

Great experience - Absolutely breathtaking experience at Abu Simbel! The temples are truly magnificent and our guide was friendly, and made the history come alive. The trip was well-organized and totally worth the early start

Great temple but a not so great journey - We loved seeing Abu simbel, it is an amazing temple and well worth a visit. The car ride is long at around 3 hrs there an back. We left at 730 and only got back at 1630. We did not opt for the guide as were told that they are not allowed into the temple area. There is a stop in the middle for coffee but don’t expect anything special other than instant coffee to purchase. Our vehicle was in poor condition but had a working air-condition at least. The driver did speak to us at points on the way there only but his English was broken. He was also on the phone for 90% of the time and seemed to drive quite slow at points because of this. Overall it was an average journey but the spectacle of abu simbel made up for it, and still worth the trip.

A terrible organisational mess! - I had booked and confirmed this trip with the tour operator, Marawan, well ahead of time. Yet, on the day, we could not find the driver. The operator asked us to look for a grey car! But since this was a public park and there were lots of cars parked there, I asked him to let the driver come to us and identify himself. The driver came and he was in a small old sedan car. This made the 3.5 hour trip very uncomfortable. The trip was to include a private tour guide, snacks and bottled water and entrance fees. None of it was prepared; when we arrived at the temple, the driver dropped us off and asked how much time we need! When I explained to the driver that there should be a guide waiting for us, he called Marawan and I spoke to him. He said, yes, don't worry, the guide is already there and waiting for you. The driver apologised and said that he had no prior knowledge as he doesn't work for the company, but his brother did and they only called him last minute to cover! The guide then called and also said that he was not aware and in fact he was at home and not onsite and would need 20 minutes to come to us and was also called last minute. He made up for it during the tour though and that's why I'm not giving it a 1 star. Thank you Hany for saving the day.
