Seti the First, however, reigned 3300 years ago, shortly after Tutankhamun. He was the second pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt during the New Kingdom period and the father of Ramses II (Ramses the Great).

After a short reign of 11 to 13 years, his temple was still under construction, but Ramses II finished the temple in honor of his father.
