Highlights
  • Centro Cultural La Casa de los Vientos - PRE-HISPANIC MOSAIC 3-D WALL MURAL OF DIEGO RIVERA (The house of the winds)
If you know the actress Salma Hayek as Frida Kahlo from the movie “Frida” and Alfred Molina as Diego Rivera, her husband in the film and real life, you’ll love this mural. Acapulco proudly hosts some of Rivera’s most famous murals. After Frida Kahlo’s time, Diego created this massive outdoor mural as a gift for his beloved girlfriend, Dólores Olmedo (Lola Olmedo). Be amazed by this 3D facade wall mural located on Dolores Olmedo’s property since 1956. This is not a fresco but one of Rivera’s most colorful and inspired mosaic works, featuring volcanic rocks and seashells. It showcases three-dimensional pre-Hispanic deities standing out in relief from the flat surface.

  • Capilla de la Paz (Chapel of Peace) - From the patio, enjoy a 180° view overlooking Acapulco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. You’ll be awestruck by one of the world’s most beautiful bays! Located at the top of Las Brisas, a gated community of stunning hillside homes, this place impresses regardless of your religion. It’s a must-see when you travel. Many travelers are drawn to the highest point in Acapulco, marked by a massive white cross. Discover the amazing story behind a family’s dream that came true—it’s a love story for sure.

  • Los Flamingos Hotel - HOTEL FLAMINGO ACAPULCO - Let’s revisit the beginnings of Acapulco’s tourism industry in the 50s and explore the old hideout of famous movie stars of the time. Perched atop Acapulco’s highest cliffs, 450 feet high, with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, the hotel’s bar is famous for creating the “Coco loco” drink, renowned worldwide. Johnny Weissmuller and John Wayne welcomed a stream of Hollywood jet-setters from the 50s to the 80s. Known as “the Hollywood ‘gang’ hideaway.”

  • La Cabaña de Caleta - AUTHENTIC MEXICAN LUNCH IN ACAPULCO EVER! (LUNCH INCLUDED ONLY FOR 6HRS OPTION)
THIS IS NOT THE AMERICAN “TACO BELL” VERSION.
DRINKS AT THE RESTAURANT ARE SEPARATE
    Menu:

  1. Tacos dorados (Crispy rolled chicken taquitos, salad on top, guacamole, and fried beans on the side)
  2. Chicken green or red enchiladas
  3. Baby shark tamales
ALSO VEGETARIAN OPTION. Salsas with varying levels of heat: Mexican mild or American mild.
  • Old Acapulco - Mexican Art Folk & Silver Factory (OPTIONAL STOP)
Learn about silver and opal jewelry from the silver city of Taxco. Taxco Silver Town & Acapulco’s oldest craft traditions date back to the pre-Hispanic period. The store offers all kinds of Mexican art crafts, including art bowls, colorful embroidered dresses, and a jewelry section specializing in sterling silver from Taxco town. Original, custom jewelry & art folks. The opal is a glorious gemstone containing all the colors of the rainbow, resembling an artist’s palette. All price ranges available.

  • La Quebrada - THE WORLDWIDE FAMOUS CLIFF DIVERS SHOW. Passed down from generation to generation, the show is as raw as it gets, with no nets or ropes. Wearing just a speedo bathing suit, the divers scale the steep rocks up 135 feet with their bare hands, using only their skill, without any climbing equipment or protection. Once at the top, they prepare to jump. But it’s not like diving from a pool board! They leap into a narrow ravine filled with sharp rocks and a channel without the depth of a pool! They must jump at the exact moment when the wave comes to make the water deeper.

Best tour guide experience in Acapulco - This was the best tour ever. ( it was pre-hurricane of course). Sebastian was friendly, knowledgeable, timely and overall fantastic. I highly recommend him for any tour. We went to the Chapel of Peace an Manos d la Hermanidad. It was just amazing and what view. So much history! We saw sights all along Diamante on our way to and from our pickup at our hotel. Our tour included lunch at a restaurant on Playa Caletas. The eats were great and the cultural mix along the beach was impressive. We had such things as shrimp tacos, chicken tostadas, and coconut ice cream. After lunch, we went to the infamous Cliff Divers. A fantastic show was put on. Diego and Frida mural and saw where they lived. We also enjoyed shopping at an artisan market. Los Flamingos Hotel was interesting with the old gang, John Wayne, & such. We felt completely safe and had an amazing time with Sebastian. I suggest this tour when Acapulco gets back on its feet and until then any tour with Sebastian would be el worth the money. and you would have a great time.
