The real Acapulco - The tour with Mario and Rudy was super nice. We have seen a lot of Acapulco and could learn to love it through the excellent guidance. The market was super interesting and especially the village at the end of the tour was magical. Especially nice was cooking there together with the local people and playing with the children. Throughout the tour, Rudy kept telling us very interesting things about life in Acapulco which gave us the chance to get a good and better impression of the city. Being there by Marios also made us feel safer (although we felt safe anyway because all people were always super nice to us). All in all, I can really recommend the tour to anyone and we really enjoyed it.

A wonderful day in Acapulco - The tour with Rudy and Mario was an absolute highlight of our 2 day stay in Acapulco. Rudy’s remarks on the history of Acapulco and Mexico, the drive to different neighborhoods of the city - to the poorer and wealthier neighborhoods of the city - the very special viewpoints over the bay, all this brought us much closer to Acapulco and opened our eyes to the special beauty of this city. These impressions were supported by a detailed tour of the Acapulcos market, a place we would not have found without Rudy and Mario. Finally, we drove further south to a fishing village located at the junction of a lagoon and the Pacific Ocean. There we prepared a guacamole together with the villagers and learned how to bake tortillas. To put it in three words: We loved it! I would also like to point out, in particular, that we felt safe at all times - in the very busy market as well as on the street and in the fishing village. We all (my husband, our three children, our daughter-in-law and I) can highly recommend Rudy and Mario's tour!

Highlight of the trip! - This tour was AMAZING! We toured with Mario and Jesus and we felt well taken care of! The tour was safe, secure, and we learned so much about Acapulco - they really know their information! They took us all over the city, we were able to get great pictures overlooking the city, they helped translate/ speak with the vendors at the market which was really helpful as non-Spanish speakers. The cooking demonstration was really fun and the food was DELISIOUS! Highly recommend this tour and we were able to get a great video/ pictures of our tour afterwards.

Plan B becomes the highlight of the trip - As I booked the trip on Pezole Thursday the regular restaurant that offer the cooking was not available and Rudi and team came up with a alternative itinerary for the day that included baby turtles a crocodile farm and a view if a very different Acapulco. My guide Jose Mario picked me up and we first popped in at the supermarket to buy a few ingredients and then headed South along the condominium strip. Leaving the big developments behind we turned into a small road and stopped at the turtle hatchery where I had the chance to release two babies from the day's hatch. After this we headed further south to the Crocodile sanctuary where a very enthusiastic Rizio spent an hour showing me around the crocodile enclosures and mangrove forrest Heading even further south we finally ended in Barra Vieja and my cooking lesson with Patti from La Charrita. It does not come more authentic Mexican than cooking Pescado a la Talla and tortillas over the open fire. The best food I had the whole trip - even if I made it Patti's secret sauce and mentoring certainly made the magic. Jose Mario was an amazingly informative and friendly guide who managed to show me a very unique Acapulco. If you can convince somebody to do this off-the-beaten track trip with you - jump at the chance it is a once in a lifetime experience.

Great Tour Experience! - We have toured with Rudy twice, once with a small group and once with a large group that we organized. The day that we toured with the large group, Rudy had an unexpected change in vehicle availability. He solved it on the spot and gave everyone a wonderful day. Rudy is very accommodating and works hard to provide a memorable day! He provides little touches that we have not experienced with anyone else, like taking a picture of our ship arriving in port and sending it to us after the trip. My husband and I recommend Rudy and his coworkers very highly. He is first on our list when looking for things to do on a visit to Acapulco! We have been to the Municipal Market with him. He loves the market and provides great insights to the visitors he takes there. He is proud of his city and anxious to share it with visitors! I would love to do the cooking portion of this tour! I think that is a new addition to his tour offerings. We have had other interesting culinary experiences with him that were always delightful!

Market and cooking class - Stopped at a view point to allow picture taking of the whole city. Off to the central market. Mario was very informative and offered an interesting tour. Off to a local area east of the city. My husband and I helped to prepare salsa, tortillas, chicken and fish. Lots of fun and very nice and charming cooks. Loved our day. Thank you Mario and Rudy

A entry level cooking class with a educational tour in a comfortable van with good guides. - The tour guides were very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. We felt safe, comfortable, and well looked after. The van was air conditioned and comfortable. Our hotel pick up was on time and we had good pre tour communication with our guides. The guides were able to provide quality narration of historical and cultural locations as well as some interesting pop culture stories about celebrities who’ve lived or filmed in Acapulco. The market offered a unfiltered view of life in Acapulco, that we enjoyed, however based on American embassy water recommendations we were unable to partake in the samples that were offered. No items were purchased at the market for use in our cooking class. The ingredients were waiting for us upon our arrival at the restaurant. The chef greeted us warmly and the restaurant was charmingly decorated. The cooking class was very basic with little instruction beyond “please chop this”, so novices shouldn’t feel intimidated to sign up. The food was okay, but not traditional and quite bland to our palates. The chef and his staff were friendly and accommodating. The bathroom facilities at the Resturant were clean however if you are taller than 5’6” or wider than about 2’ you’d have real trouble getting into the single stall. Recommendation to other participants- wear closed shoes and very cool clothing for the best experience!

Mexican Market and Cooking Class - Viewing the market was very insightful! We were able to see many different types of food and we were able to try some of the foods. The one downside was that in the cooking portion of the tour. This part is not hands on. It is more so Watching the cook prepare the food.
