EXPERIENCE TIME TRAVEL AND REENACT THE RITES OF THE TEOTIHUACAN CEREMONIAL CENTER.
Tehuacalco, an archaeological marvel, is nestled near the city of Chilpancingo, Guerrero. It is renown for being the first archaeological establishment linked to the yope culture. Situated on a hill with mountains all around, warmly worshiped by the yopes, it stands as a testament of an old ceremonial nucleus belonging to the yope civilization. It’s one of the scarce late pre-Hispanic provinces that remained unconquered by the Mexicas. The location of the mountains is indicative of the four primary directions. The sun would appear from behind the La Compuerta Mountain during significant solar events like equinoxes and solstices. Tehuacalco served as a revered ceremonial ground.
Around 7 hrs would be ample to relish a journey through the Sierra Madre el Sur, marvel at the local flora and fauna, and experience the hospitality of the native inhabitants.
