Great cultural experience - My husband really enjoyed the history of cooking in Ghana and had so much fun while participating. The foods were similar to our country’s and so it was interesting to see how difference in spices provided such a different experience Thank you

An Authentic Cooking Experience. - This was very a very authentic cooking experience. My hosts Patience and Irene were considerate and answered all my questions about the ingredients (and I asked many!) Patience was aptly named and helped me prepare the food for the Kontomere stew and as I was her elder, they then cooked for me on their coal heated burners. Their skills in using very basic equipment as a number of Ghanians still do, yet producing the most wholesome and tasty food, without salt or any processed seasoning is amazing. When I return to Ghana, I will certainly return to this friendly, cosy and genuine kitchen. Thank you for all your attention today ladies x

Cooking in Ghana, a personal experience - Everyone one involved was so helpful and very friendly. I think they went above and beyond to show us how to prepare a new dish.

Definitely do this - This cooking experience was a highlight of our trip. We booked this at the beginning of our trip, and ended up circling back to Accra and meeting back up with our friends from this experience. We made fufu, had drinks, and got a tour of the local neighborhood. We were introduced to Joseph, a local tailor who made incredible outfits for my girlfriend and I. If you're looking to get to know some locals, I'd consider this a must-do -- make your reservation.

Good, but different than described - I enjoyed the experience although it was different than listed in the itinerary. Be sure to ask for details and an address to find their town, as I had difficulty with that. I then met Linda and DD and went into their store. Linda had things prepared and I helped her to cut some vegetables. She showed me how to cook jollof. I then was able to enjoy a nice meal. They were generous in answering questions about Ghana food and culture. It was about 1.5 hours total.

Great experience - Learned a lot about Ghanaian cooking. Although there are many ways to cook okra fish stew, Doreen showed me the simple and easy way to prepare a tasty meal

Not what I had expected - The experience is not what I had expected. I expected to be more hands on involved and that wasn’t the case. The prepping of the ingredients were already done. I chose the the okra stew with banku. When it came to cooking banku, I did get to help a bit, but when it came to cooking the stew, the lady pretty much did everything- even the seasoning. Now it was time to eat, and I ate by myself while they were sitting there watching. It really wasn’t a comfortable or pleasant experience. I’m all for supporting people to help them earn money, but I too have to work for my money and I like it to be well spent. I do not recommend this experience..sorry.
