- Cape Coast Castle - The Cape Coast Castle is one of the biggest castles still standing in Ghana today which was constructed by European forces, On a portion of the Gold Coast that subsequently came to be known as the Cape Coast, it all started as a Portuguese trade lodge built in 1555. The Swedish Africa Company built a permanent wooden stronghold in 1653 to facilitate the trading of gold and lumber after Sweden conquered the Cape Coast. The regional office of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board is located there, and it is currently a historical museum with a gift shop selling Ghanaian arts and crafts.

Do it! Book the tour - This was my first time travelling alone and booking a tour alone. Everything was 10/10 for me. I booked pretty last minute, but George got back to me and confirmed my trip within one hour. They delivered everything they promised. The driver, Moses, was amazing. He made me feel safe and had a killer playlist to keep us entertained during the long drive( traffic is crazy).

10/10 Experience! - I would 100% recommend this tour to everyone visiting Ghana! Our tour guide Joe ensured that our trip was comfortable, insightful, and entertaining from start to finish!

Full Day of Action Packed Activities - The tour guide, George, was awesome. He was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Be prepared for a loooong day. The drive to and fro takes the longest of any one excursion. The history learned at the castles is saddening and makes one thankful to be alive today. More time is spent at Elmina than Cape Coast Castle. The canopy walk is fun, but you will get hot and sweaty. Be prepared to walk. Finally, the food was pretty good. Warning: the snapper and tilapia are not equal in size…Overall, an enjoyable and worthwhile experience!

Incredible and humbling - Incredible experience. Very humbling. Joe was an amazing guide and driver. Lots of driving to get to Kakum, Elmina and Cape Coast slave castles, but a very educational and informative experience.

The castles are not just touristic but a pilgrimage! - Very educational, and entertaining tour guides. Views were amazing. Bus was air conditioned, comfortable, with wifi and phone charging ports.

Important history + canopy tour make this worthwhile - I signed up for the tour to see Elmina Castle and Cape Coast Castle, both of which were valuable experiences as we were able to walk through most rooms of the castles. The canopy tour far exceeded my expectations! Bring an extra t-shirt! Everyone was so sweaty after. It was a lot of time in the van but the other members of the tour were great and lunch on the beach was a treat.

I learned alot and the day went well. The traffic coming back was awful. - We enjoyed Elmina and our tour guide Joe was awesome! Some parts of the tour was unexpected, however Joe made everything go smoothly.
